I live in Richmond, Va but this spring I will be attending Roanoke Bible College in Elizabeth city NC so soon I will be a north carolinian lol
I grew up in Elizabeth City, went to college in Wilmington (UNCW) but then moved to Tampa, Florida for Graduate School. Hope you like Elizabeth City and if you like sandwiches go over to Camdem county like heading for the beach and you will come across a place called Bellcross(sp?) right before the road forks you will see a building on the right and a produce stand the resturaunt in that building has some of the best food. The resturaunt's name is Bellcross Bake Shope.

It was lovely 2 months ago when I went through the mountains. My husband forgot to make a right turn coming out of Gatlinburg to head toward Lawrenceburg TN and we came over the mountains. We came throuugh Cherokee, NC and got close to Asheville to get on the interstate. It was dark when we got into Knoxville. Anyhow, I love going to NC. We had been on Cherahalia Skyway earlier this year. I've been to Mt. Mitchell and Clingsman Dome, too. Been through Cherokee National Forest during the summer and the wild river rafting looked like alot of fun but I wasn't that brave. What is NC's other highest mountain after Mt. Mitchell? I love the mountains and NC has the best mountains I've seen.

You folks from the Triad are takin' over the thread! :D

Pilot community here -- southern tip of Franklin County, about 25 miles east of Raleigh.

Orangetang: My "son" and his family lived in Wendell for about 18 months. (He's actually my former ward, but with no blood children, and the paternal/filial feelings we have for each other, he's my son in spirit. They had to move away for job reasons, though.) We drive through Lizard Lick regularly! :)

Actually Clingsman Dome is 3rd highest. It's Mt. Mitchell, Mt. Craig, then Clingsman Dome, then Mt. Guyot and Balsam Cone. The highest mountains in NC and TN are in the Black Mountains and the Smokey Mts. I got this off americasroof.com
Wow. They must have re-measured their heights because Clingman's Dome used to be the second tallest. They're still pretty close though, as only 4 feet seperates the two.

yeah, i used to live in hendersonville (about 6 years) :) How are the mountains looking at this time of year?

Hello there! I live in Hendersonville right now and have for the past 11 years. I moved here from Charlotte and I have family in Greenville, NC and Morehead City. My pastor's son lives in Raleigh/Durham as he just graduated from NC State!

As you can probably tell, we don't leave the state very often. But, I did just marry the most wonderful young lady :pink: from Michigan. Gotta branch out sometime, right? We met at college. :)
