Romans 1:18-32 tells us how people rejected God and so God let them go into lusts which dragged them into various anti-God and anti-love things. And inside themselves they suffered the built-in punishment for refusing God. Away from God, they were deeply weak so they could suffer emotionally and spiritually, while also doing various evil things.

Included in their rejecting God, our Apostle Paul says >

"they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful" >

This is in Romans 8:21.

And then Paul says what became of them because they rejected God.

What I notice is how they were not thankful. Being unthankful, then, was included in rejecting God; and being unthankful, therefore, was a major part of how they could get away from God.

I think that most people make God into some kind of image of an animal, maybe it can't be helped much since we all got to start somewhere and we are prone to slipping up every once in awhile. Maybe ignorance can be a form of unthankfulness. Yes in fact willful ignorance is quite an insult. God is basically the most important one that we can learn about.

the high Authority that Paul has is legit, but here he condemns people for not knowing God by the things he created. This does not stand very well for our modern world. It is only by spiritual intuition that we can see God's wisdom in his creation. Religious reasoning is not common for most people nowadays. Wise people such as the ancient Greeks might have been able to reason that there is a God by the things that are, but the kind of Society we have now is more scientific. It does not help that some Christians try to make scientific claims based on the Bible. You could say in a way that this is already some kind of form of improper sexual immorality.
