Romans 1:18-32 tells us how people rejected God and so God let them go into lusts which dragged them into various anti-God and anti-love things. And inside themselves they suffered the built-in punishment for refusing God. Away from God, they were deeply weak so they could suffer emotionally and spiritually, while also doing various evil things.
Included in their rejecting God, our Apostle Paul says >
"they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful" >
This is in Romans 8:21.
And then Paul says what became of them because they rejected God.
What I notice is how they were not thankful. Being unthankful, then, was included in rejecting God; and being unthankful, therefore, was a major part of how they could get away from God.
