    it's flawed.

    LOL

I try to be charitable and give the benefit of doubt as to intentions where it is not clear. It would be easy to assume evil intent on the part of many of the rulings of Councils. Not all of them but many....

This is not because I dislike Catholics. Far from true!!!

but the sad realitiy is that they have been taught to believe in their religious system...not in Jesus. What is the purpose of Jesus giving His blood if a religious system could save us? There was already a G-d ordained religious system in place.

But even worse is that the Catholic laity is taught that the bible can not be understood without the "proper" Catholic perspective. RCC authority cannot be questioned (because it can not stand up to a legitamate scrutiny)

We are talking about a book written by common farmers and fishermen!

So I am tired of debating with anyone who doesn't accept the simple logic and explanations of the Bible. There are sooooo many holes in the doctrines of the RCC yet the diehard catholic apologist can't deal with simple logic. Oh no! We must refer to ordinary men in past centuries to figure out what the Bible clearly says.

The Bible clearly teaches that Mary had other children. It clearly teaches that the bread and wine are symbols of His flesh and blood, that Peter was never a Pope and was under the authority of Jesus' brother, James. These are strange concepts for someone who has been fed a different reality.

I haven't even scratched the surface of the errors being taught in the RCC because of their historical arrogance against the jewish people. Not to mention the lack of proper interpretation because of IGNORANCE of the jewish perspective...and rejection of the Torah.

Are Christians voting in this pole or is it just Messianics?

    Where?

Please don't cite the same verses you cited already. They do not call anyone other than Jesus a child of Mary.

    Maybe you have others?

I noticed you posted in my opening thread after you posted to me here. So you read my answer in detail there.

I was just wondering if non-Messianics were voting in the pole. I know I voted in it, but it was before I knew that I needed to identify what faith I am of before I could post a post. I voted, but I could not yet post. I just thought the votes for the creed were a bit high for the question asked of Messianics. But i can be wrong!

    Hi Maximus.

I can't find any scripture that says, Jesus, child of Mary, or Jesus a Child of Mary.

    But I did find....

Matt 1:18 Now the birth of Yahshuah HaMashiach was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Ruwach HaKodesh.

She was found with child of Ruwach Hakodesh.

    Then I found...

Mark 6:3 Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?" And they were offended at Him.

So yes, Yahshuah not only had brothers, but He also had sisters. There are doctrines that teach Mother of God, so since Yahshuah had brothers and sisters, should they be called Brother of God and Sister of God too?

Anyway, just wanted to share a few scriptures.

    Thank you!

Shalom Daron, Yes I read your posts backwards, please forgive my misunderstanding of your question. I have not voted nor checked the poll so don't know about that but many people like to make secret votes but not post why. ;)

BTW Welcome to the Messianic forum!

seems clear to everyone but Max.

There are extra-biblical records of James being the brother of Jesus also.

Let me ask you a question now Max....

Do you also believe the Catholic fairy tale about angels picking up Mary's house and flying it to Verona, Italy?

Okay, this discussion is getting a bit hostile, not to mention dangerously close to breaking a few rules. If y'all don't cool down, I'll have to close this thread.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    I apologize.

If there weren't people losing their souls for an institution it wouldn't bother me at all....

    Never heard that story, Yod.

The "seems clear to everyone but Max" comment is not quite accurate, is it?

The majority of the world's Christians accept the perpetual virginity of Mary.

Even Luther and Calvin accepted it.

You said the Bible clearly teaches that Mary had other children, yet you have not supplied a single verse that clearly and unambiguously teaches that.

You (and Daron after you) supplied some verses that speak of "brothers and sisters" of Jesus, but not one of them is ever called a son or daughter (or child or offspring, etc.) of Mary, are they?

I pointed out that in the Aramaic spoken by first-century Jews of Palestine, the words brother and sister can mean all sorts of relatives, including cousins and foster brothers and sisters.

If you wish to believe that Mary had other children, that is your privilege.

But should you proclaim that the Bible clearly teaches that, when in fact it does not?
