Romans 6:4. Therefore we are buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
To walk in the newness of life is to be guided by the Spirit, not a Law Code.
Romans 7:6. But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not the oldness of the letter.
We must be born from above by the Spirit to rightly comprehend Messiah.
Luke 5:36-38. Now He was also telling them a parable. No one tears a patch from a new garment to use it on an old garment. Otherwise he will rip the new, and the patch from the new will not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, it will be spilled out, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
Ephesians 4:23 & 24. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
This Spirit of Renewal is the Work of Faith.
2 Co 4:16-18. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
