From the "This is how a 'fight to the death' ends when you lose", files: New White House personnel chief tells Cabinet liaisons to target Never Trumpers

Johnny McEntee called in White House liaisons from cabinet agencies for an introductory meeting Thursday, in which he asked them to identify political appointees across the U.S. government who are believed to be anti-Trump, three sources familiar with the meeting tell Axios.
    ...
Trump has empowered McEntee — whom he considers an absolute loyalist — to purge the “bad people” and “Deep State.”

A bit on the late side for all of that now don't you think?
    What was he thinking before?
"I think I'll keep everyone that will try to undermine me around until just before time to campaign for reelection"

There's something seriously wrong with somebody who thinks this is a good way to run a workplace.

Good to see Trump does actually learn from other people sometimes, although I doubt many people would consider Stalin a great role model.

Problem is, there are thousands of such people in the federal bureaucracy, and they don't advertise who they are. And no, it's never too late.

Depends on what your goal is, I suppose. He did a great job tackling obesity in the Ukraine.

How about just getting rid of the ones that did virtually advertise who they were?

Not really we are talking about perhaps firing but not firing squads. Those will have to wait for when the socialists to take over.

Trump, as he has been known to do for years, has already "fired" a number of people in the administration. Yeah, it's easy to say he should have moved more out in the early days of his administration but, as we saw with Jeff Sessions, his options in many instances were restricted by the ongoing Mueller investigation and the subsequent impeachment. His adversaries were nothing if not determined.

At the current time Trump has far more options than he had in the first three years of his administration. Really, for the first time since he became president he finally has all the power and options most presidents start their administrations with.

I don't accept those excuses. Scapegoats not allowed. They made me not do it is no different than they made me do it.

I wasn't making excuses, just attempting to reason through what might have been going on.

As always, the proof is in the pudding. Trump has been quite successful at accomplishing the things he promised to do. It could also largely be that Trump's priorities were set on accomplishments and he's dealt with personnel as a secondary measure.

Stalin, Stalin, Stalin. Big whoop! Stalin was a big nobody that happened to get into some pictures with Lenin that made it look like they were pals. Stalin was not the post popular choice to succeed Lenin, he never served in the Armed Forces, purged government officials, used or changed the laws to benefit him, set up a cult of personality, and put unqualified people into important positions in the government just because they were loyal to him. His defenders would lend credence to whatever he said, no matter how ridiculous it was. Once these people he installed found out what kind of a nut job he was, they turned on him and they were fired. He claimed to be smart but Lenin thought him as an idiot or of low intelligence. He had a funny voice, mispronounced common words, enjoyed talking about things he had no idea about, was self-conscious of his appearance, and had tiny hands.

Clearly the attempt to paint President Trump’s draining of the swamp as some sort of Stalinesque purge is just another failing attempt that proves the Democrats can’t beat Trump in 2020.

That "draining of the swamp" really is ironic.

That won't work. It will leave far too many in place.
