Trump plans to release JFK assassination documents despite concerns from federal agencies

This story is interesting for a couple of reasons...
First and foremost, it can put to rest the dozens of conspiracy theories that have been circulating since the event.

Second, it would seem that much the pro-Trump media and his support base are crediting Trump for the release and praising "Trump's actions" as showing his commitment to "expose the deep state", when in fact, it wouldn't have mattered who the president was, the documents were scheduled to be released on Oct 26th:

The 1992 Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act, signed by George HW Bush, required that the millions of pages, many of them contained in CIA and FBI documents, be published in 25 years — by Thursday.

However, the part I find the most interesting is that one of the most popular tin foil theories about the event implicated George HW Bush as being complicit in the assassination, yet he's the guy who actually signed the act that would release the documents. (Even though many of the Trump supporters are giving Trump the glory for it).

Why would those conspiracy theories die?

Why would someone believe in the veracity of those documents in the first place if he doesn't trust the government?

After all, 25 years is a long time to doctor with evidence.

Yea but don't forget, Ted Cruz's dad was in Dallas according to Trump:

Trump was referencing a National Enquirer report claiming that Cruz's father Rafael and Oswald had been photographed together before the fatal shooting in 1963. (Dem on Trump releasing JFK files: ‘Does this mean Ted Cruz’s father will be exposed?’ The Hill)
We're finally going to get to the bottom of this, where's my tin foil hat?

Well, a lot of the conspiracy theorist crowd just happens to overlap with the "Trump can do no wrong, and he's our night and shining armor fighting against the Soros-funded deep state" crowd...which makes me wonder, if these documents get released and show that there was no secret Bush-family conspiracy to kill the Kennedy's, what will win in their minds? If Trump signs off on the documents getting released and they show no conspiracies in the mix, will they give up on their Kennedy conspiracies and finally accept the reported story?...or will they turn on Trump and accuse him of "selling out to the Deep State"?

They'll propably take a third option and say that trump, while well meaning and smart, has been duped or made powerless to stop the deep state.

The documents are of no great significance, even if there was a deep state conspiracy. Part of the reason for such a long delay in it's release is the fact that it gives them all the time in the world to destroy anything damaging.

That still doesn't make a lot of sense logistically speaking...it's not that hard to destroy documents. They could do that in a month or two if they wanted to. 2-3 years would be more than enough time to "tie up loose ends" as it were if there were something like that going on.

The people involved would be dead, that is part of the delay. On going operations have long since ran their course and tactics have been revised. What we are supposed to get is what the intelligence communities actually knew at the time.

According to the National Archives, the final batch includes information on the CIA’s station in Mexico City, where Oswald showed up weeks before JFK’s death; 400 pages on E. Howard Hunt, the Watergate burglary conspirator who said on his deathbed that he had prior knowledge of the assassination; and testimony from the CIA’s James Angleton, who oversaw intelligence on Oswald. The documents could also provide information on a CIA officer named George Joannides, who directed financial dealings with an anti-Castro group whose members had a public fight with Oswald on the streets of New Orleans in the summer of 1963. (25th JFK Assassination Secrets Scheduled for 2017 Release, Time)
Interesting stuff, but the literal smoking gun of the whole thing was E Howard Hunt's deathbed confession. Apparently the hit was ordered by LBJ and the guys on the grassy knoll were E Howard Hunt, Frank Sturgis and the shooter was Corsican Mafia assassin Lucien Sarti. Hunt's son confirms that the famous picture of the hobos found in a box car in the train yard connected to the grassy knoll, included his father.

E Howard Hunt is the old guy in the back. I can see the resembalace:

By far the most convincing thing I have found is not in the movie, JFK. If you remember, Costner who is playing Garrison, who investigated the assassination, is talking to Donald Sutterland making some highly speculative narratives with no basis in fact. The actual meeting was with a Federal Agent who was investigating 'Operation Mongoose'. What he had learned was there was such a big assassination plot underway the only safe place for him was Federal Prison. He walks into a Federal Bank and fires three shots into the ceiling, walks outside and sits on the curb. The security guard runs past him and he calls him back. He thought he would do six months, the sentence was more like three years.

The Congressional investigation years later concluded that a shot was fired from the Grassy Knoll but they said it missed. This is a lot of baloney to put it mildly. I know what happened and it's not a conspiracy theory, it was an assassination pure and simple. The wife of a Congressman saw Jack Ruby in Delaney Plaza the day of the shooting unloading rifles, she refused to testify and Garrison didn't blame her. A Dallas police officer said in an interview with Liberty Press that they found another rifle on the roof, his name was Tippet as a recall and he died shortly after going public.

LBJ killed his boss and escalated the war in Vietnam when Kennedy was pulling the troops out.

NSAM 263: Getting out of Vietnam — On Oct. 11, 1963, Kennedy signed National Security Action Memorandum 263. This ordered a withdrawal of 1,000 troops out of roughly 16,000 Americans stationed in Vietnam by the end of 1963, with the complete withdrawal by the end of 1965.

NSAM 273: Mysterious timing — Signed on Nov. 26, 1963, this was the first National Security Action Memorandum on Vietnam under President Lyndon Johnson. NSAM 273 effectively overturned Kennedy's NSAM 263 and ordered the planning of increased activity in Vietnam. (13 documents you should read about the JFK assassination)
It obvious what happened from the documents we already have, the details these new documents will fill in are purely academic in my mind.

The original plot was to assassinate Castro but the FBI shut that down after the Bay of Pigs. These guys were angry over that and wanted to escalate the war in Vietnam. The battle was between fascists and communists who were in a death struggle for the soul of American public policy. When you look at what happened in Charlottesville it was fascists (neonazis) vs. Antifa which is Communist, both are fierce national socialists. Meanwhile the peace loving, patriotic people who love their Constitutional Republic are oblivious to the encroaching national socialism that has so long driven Europe into war and economic disparity.

It's not a conspiracy but part of a long and determined march to neutralize our rights and power as citizens of the United States. On the day JFK was shot we returned to the Medieval oligarchy of Europe, who now control us from a position of unassailable dominance.

This one still may be my favorite...not sure if this person was being serious or just being satirical to troll the conspiracy theorists...but for some reason, this one always makes me chuckle.

Sure, this guy has obviously never heard of an aircraft carrier. Japan attacked the United States because of an oil embargo that was strangling them economically. They had invaded Mongolia and the atrocities they were committing were nothing short of genocide. Nanking was one of their most obvious atrocities and even a Nazi John Heinrich Detlev Rabe did everything he could to stop them. When they attacked Pearl Harbor it was to neutralize the Pacific Fleet. They made two fatal mistakes, they did not hit the fuel reserves and they got no aircraft carriers. They never intended to invade the United States, the prize was Indonesian oil. People who chant 'no blood for oil' have no idea how vital it is to an industrial society.

The Tonkin Bay incident was the provocation LBJ used to secure a declaration of war from Congress. It was a lie, the first incident resulted in the destruction of three wooden ships and no damage to the destroyer USS Maddox. The second incident never happened as confirmed by a fly over by Commander James B. Stockdale.

These new documents and tapes reveal what historians could not prove: There was not a second attack on U.S. Navy ships in the Tonkin Gulf in early August 1964. Furthermore, the evidence suggests a disturbing and deliberate attempt by Secretary of Defense McNamara to distort the evidence and mislead Congress. (The Truth About Tonkin, US Naval Institute)
They lied to us about the assassination and they lied to us about Vietnam. These are all confirmed facts, no further documentation required. The problem is that we have been so numbed by the endless stream of cinema, social media and propaganda we have become immune to the actual and obvious truth.

IMO, parts of the intelligence community are pushing to not have documents released, because what is revealed could be embarrassing to how the investigation was handled, including clues they had on Oswald, before the assasination. Transparancy is always a good thing in the long run.

I think you meant, "knight in shining armor".

Yeah, it's pretty good...not just because it treats the edges of the map like real edges...but because he has the planes skipping around landmasses like they can't fly over them.

There is an interesting phenomena that occurs when people have firm beliefs in conspiracies or prophecies or "whatever". Regardless of what the documents say, conspiracy theorists will 100% find a way to use said documents to bolster their beliefs.

If XYZ is proven in the document and XYZ is a nugget that supports just a tiny fraction of the conspiracy chain of events then BOOM!!!! SMOKING GUN PROOF!!!!

If there is no XYZ in the document than "obviously" the government found a way to remove XYZ and thus the fact that XYZ is "not" in the document is PROOF of the existence of XYZ because "they" didn't want you do know about it--- BOOM!!!! SMOKING GUN PROOF!!!!

No matter what the documents say, expect for conspiracy theorists to rejoice and to use said documents to justify and validate their conspiracy theories...

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a fact of history, JFK was killed by his own government. The lone gunman theory has holes you could drive a gun through and we even know who the people involved were.
