It doesn't. I read somewhere that the early church congregated on Sunday because that was the day Jesus rose.

Exactly. Most churches do not teach the correct observation of commandment 4. Perhaps the closest justification we can get will be when Jesus' disciples were eating grain in the fields or working miracles on the Sabbath, but IMO it is still meant to be observed.
