What fundamentalists like to inflate as "serious controversy in the evolutionist camp" is actually discussion about minor details of the "how" of evolution, while the "yes or no" of evolution is always answered with a thundering "yes".
As for "most popular", if you refer to the "most popular" explanation for one of the minor detail questions of the scientifically well-supported theory, I'm with you. If you don't... I'll demand some good (read: not-already-refuted) evidence
