When Nehemiah heard that the walls of Jerusalem were in need of repair he showed great concern. The first thing he did was to sit down and weep and pray, because he knew how important the walls were for the safety and security of the city. When we see the need around for God's kingdom to be extended and His Church to be built we too should be concerned and compassionate and pray and seek God.
There is a lot to learn from Nehemiah. One of my favorite lessons is that everyone worked on a different part of the wall, but was ready to assist anyone else when they were attacked. We need to be like that. Sadly, a lot of Christians are not.

He surveyed the situation firsthand and asked for help from others and led a workforce working together for success. When opposition came he carried on in the strength of the LORD. Great respect for leaders like that.
