What evidence to you have that there are needy and homeless Christians?
um trying to figure out how to put this politely just common sense that there ARE in fact people who claim Christ who for any number of reasons find themselves homeless.

I read in the Bible that God will provide our needs. So why are there needy and homeless Christians?
Well, two things one often God uses His people who sometimes even those who are NOT His people to provide and two (and in NO way am I saying people deserve to be homeless people change and deserve a second chance, but when people's CHOICES lead them to become homeless say addiction or poor money management God allows them to suffer the results of those choices. It is like taking a test in school. You cannot not study and claim that God will help you and provide. There are certain things that He expects us to put effort in before He will just give us stuff.

So that we can minister to our brothers and sisters in Christ?

Re: God providing for our needs:

God does provide our needs. His views of our "needs" may be quite different than ours. All throughout the Bible this is addressed.

I would say that these are people who have, for whatever reason, failed to accept that which God provided.

At least in America, nobody has to remain homeless. That is to say, there are resources available to people who have fallen into a bad situation. I live near Nashville, Tennessee, and there is a privately funded Christian rescue mission here with real help and real programs for the homeless. I know they will feed anyone who shows up. Yet, I can't drive down the interstate without seeing someone with a cardboard sign saying "homeless and hungry, please help."

Anyone who sincerely wants help, here, can get it. They may be required to stop using meth. Which is many times the core of the problem.

Then there should be evidence of that which could be presented.

like what? It would have to be self-reported and that is not always the most actuate stuff or method.

God has already given us the gift of eternal salvation. What more do we truly "need"?
There are Earthly needs that some people sadly do not have met on a daily basis.

What type of " evidence" would you need to show that of the literally 100,000s of people who are homeless in this country alone ( maybe even millions) that at least SOME of them know Christ as their Lord and Savior?

Are you familiar with the story of Paul? It puts "needs" into perspective.

Nevertheless. we are to still feed the hungry, the starving, and minister to the suffering, amen?

He still HAD to eat and he still as a human he could have frozen to death. He still needed to drink water. Yes, what people consider "needs" and what are truly needs are not always the same thing, but there are things that if we did not have we would die. At which people we could not spread Christ or do anything for that matter.

I believe God provides for our needs (shelter from the elements, food, clothing). In the United States there is a great abundance of these things. I'm not seeing that people are without shelter, starving or unclothed unless it's because of choices to be so.

He also provides for our spiritual needs. We do need to be aware and follow as His Spirit leads us.
