Brethren,
I'm sure many of your are familar with the saying (I'm paraphrasing); "obedience is the only virtue the devil cannot imitate".

I am looking for the originator of this quote. Or, at the least, a person of authority (or a Saint) who used it.

Thank you in advance for the assist.

This is the closest I could find.

St. John Climacus tells us, "Humility is the only virtue no devil can imitate. If pride made demons out of angels, there is no double that humility could make angels out of demons."

I also believe that I read the obedience phrase in St. Therese's Story of a Soul. (It's been awhile and many other books since I read St. Therese's book so I can't be certain.)

When you do find the quote, please post again and let us know.
