Hi all, God bless. I'm seeking help in finding the source of a quote; in his sermon entitled "Christ - Our Substitute", Charles Spurgeon said the following:

"I may say what Jonathan Edwards says at the end of his book: 'If any man could disprove the doctrines of the gospel, he should then sit down and weep to think they were not true, for it would be the most dreadful calamity that could happen to the world, to have a glimpse of such truths, and then for them to melt away in the thin air of fiction, as having no substantiality.' Stand up for the truth of Christ..."

Problem is, for the life of me I cannot find this quote in anything Edwards wrote. I've searched through almost all of the two volumes of his works on CCEL to no avail. Any help would be very appreciated.
