Hello everyone I could really use some advice about a situation that recently happened on Twitch which for those of you who don't know what Twitch is, Twitch is a live streaming service where someone like a gamer can livestream from their house and you talk to them through an Internet chat while they are streaming. In my particular case I am someone who enjoys watching ASMR videos. One of the streamers I won't say her name out loud but she was an ASMRtist from Germany who uploads to Youtube and does livestreams. On top of being a German citizen she was originally born in Turkey and comes from an Islamic background but abandoned the faith. Since I was someone who was a regular contributor to her Twitch and Youtube channel she decided to make me a Moderator in her Twitch chat. Well last night there was a guy who was from Turkey and was trying to get sensitive information from her like where she lived, what her social media was, etc. She then tells us the viewers that he was making her uncomfortable and she didn't want to answer his questions. Since he was making her so uncomfortable and making unwanted advances I decided to ban him from the chat. The ASMRtist later contacted me in a private message telling me that I was out of line and she was removing my mod status saying I was "overprotective." I told her that as a Christian I am not someone who tries seeking a fight, am very gentle, but stepped in to remove him because he was completely out of line. I told her it was the equivalent to a bouncer asking a very aggressive patron to leave the bar due to harassment. I also told her that while I liked her as a person I couldn't continue to support her if she doesn't have my back and that I'm leaving. I know its just a stream and its not real life but I still feel a little hurt over this. Was I in the wrong and was I overprotective?
