My wife has a severe breathing condition leaving her only 50 percent use of her lungs. She uses oxygen around the clock. Tonight, I heard her start choking. Her airway was completely blocked with mucus. I positioned her for the heimlich maneuver. She immediately started coughing when I leaned her forward. I didn't have to do any thrusts. It was a frightening sound. She gasped for air as the coughing slowly improved. It's a scary thing to watch. She could have easily died. This could have gone a lot worse. Praise the Lord for having mercy on us. I don't know what I would ever do without her.
