Haha, yeah, it stings; but very rarely. I mean, it has the capability, but the Pandinus Imperator, being the world's largest, is also the world's most.. what is word.. least deadly. General rule of thumb here: larger the pincers are, the least toxic the sting is. Emperor sting is like wasp, but they use their pedipalps instead of their stinger because they are so large. I could pick her up and hold her, she wouldn't sting, but if she got mad, those pincers could draw blood.

World's most toxic, the Death Stalker, is also world's smallest.


As for the cricket stash, there is a heating pad under the tank. The log is on the pad. The crickets are also "cold blooded" and go where the heat source is. Also, they camoflauge themselves in the log.

Haha, I'm surprised he doesn't zap up all the crickets right away. My tiger salamander's a pig, I had to diet him for like 4 days without food, LOL.

How many crickets do you give the scorpion, and what food do you feed the crickets to keep them alive?

I buy a dozen and plop 'em in there. Takes her about 2 weeks to blow through a batch. Sometimes she pigs out and doesn't move for about 4 days. I diet her sometimes for a week at a time. The crickets feed on the substrate.

My brother once took a bath with a scorpion. We have little brown ones in Arkansas and I guess it crept up and dove in the bathtub. All I know is that when he drained the water, saw it, and gave a really high-pitched girly scream. We all rushed in and there was the scorpion in the bottom of the tub, still alive and very very upset.
