Hi there!

So I got to thinking.

If you're one of those who arc & spark that the Ten Commandments are on the courthouse lawn, why not lobby to have traffic routed around the courthouse, rather than have the Ten Commandments locked in the cellar or something?

And if you disagree and think this is a stupid proposition, then let me ask you this:

If you're so afraid the Ten Commandments will end up evangelizing someone and turning them into a God-fearing, born again, love thy neighbor Bible believing Christian, how is it that you weren't changed?

And furthermore, do you still drive past the courthouse, knowing those commandments are still there?

If so, why aren't you walking your talk and detouring around the affected area?

Would Clark Kent keep walking past the Kryptonite lab day after day?

My personal view is that atheists who are obsessed with removing public displays of religion are wasting their time, but no more so than Christians who are obsessed with placing religious displays on public property. The whole issue seems pointless to me.

My chief fear is that my religion might, at some level, become an established one: that it would be favored by the government in a way that would be harmful to those who do not belong to my religion. My religion has been used in this way in the past by the English and Colonial American governments, so I am cautious.

I do not want to send any signals to Hindus and Buddhists and atheists to indicate that they would not find justice at the courthouse.

Ever heard of the First Amendment?

Hindus and Buddhists dig statues.

They should get this:

how is it that [one of those who arc & spark] [wasn't] changed?

Duh, no evolution. [...to John 3:16]

Would Clark Kent keep walking past the Kryptonite lab day after day?

Regarding Superman... depends on the scriptwriter du jour. [...Kent just reads (follows) what written on the script for him; not unlike (analogous too) a baby growing in the mother's womb according to the DNA God gave them]

Apologies for my physical sciences humor, it appears to have met with a wee bit of rust this fine morning. God graced our lawn with fresh layer of dew.

Deuteronomy 11:20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:

My house, fine. But why a courthouse? I rarely ever go there, and if I do, I'm not going to spend time looking for a Ten Commandments monument. It's not like I'll forget what they are if they're not posted outside some public building.

Do violators pay their fines at your house? do criminals visit you regularly? do they do jury selection at your house?

It's a matter of importance that all people remember the Ten Commandments.

It appears to be working (the remembering part).

I find it odd that the only way some people can remember them is having them written on monuments on some building...

But like I said, I honestly don't see the issue, whether the monument is there or not.

No, but I don't see how that's relevant.
A courthouse is a hub of activity.

People go there.

From janitors to judges ... lawyers to criminals ... and educated to born again.

What better place to post the Ten Commandments?

It's a way of reinforcing what you learn at church and at home.

I say this reverently, but it's a kind of advertising ... free publicity.

It's also a way of saying, "this edifice knows what side of the bread has the butter."

Nevermind ... I doubt you understand.

You're a professional scientist, are you not?

Not a scientist, professional or otherwise. Unless you define 'scientist' as 'person who disagrees with you about things'.
