I create an apple ex nihilo into the palm of your hand.

What evidence would you use to convince your friend I did this?

We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

Seems like I have saw this before?

First you would have to show me and then you could show my friend :) Neither of us would be foolish enough to just take your word for it.

That fact is assumed in the OP.

Fair enough. What evidence would you use to convince my friend that you created this apple ex nihilo?

My role in the OP ended when the apple came into existence.

I have no further interest in the matter after that.

You must, because you clearly care about what I tell my friend.

Are you really bothering to do this again?
There is only one answer, considering the fact that your act STOPS at the ex nihilo creation of an apple in my hand-

    There is no evidence.

More to the point, there is no objective empirical evidence that can be tested, measured or replicated (unlike, say, said evidence for Special Relativity, QM, or Evolution).

I have already answered this question quite a while ago (and no, I'm not going to q.v. my specific post from over a year ago).

Since you, by your very premise, WILL REFUSE to replicate the act, there is absolutely no objective, testable, empirical evidence that I could provide to anyone regarding your ex nihilo apple.

Now that you have done this premise TO DEATH, why do you keep on doing this-

    Why why why?
    Some of us get it.

For those who don't, you can quote those who do (if that helps ;) )

    This one's easy.

Since, in your Mind, Evidence only entails that which you can convince someone to believe, I'd Write a Book Claiming that you Wrote it. In this Book I'd write that you Claimed to have Created the Apple Ex Nihilo. I'd also write that you Claim this book to be Enerrant and that to not believe everything written in this book is Foolish and would even be a Sin.

Then I'd give this Book to my friend and Pray he's guliable enough to believe it.

    And there. Your Challenge solved.

I couldn't convince him and more importantly I shouldn't expect to. From his perspective it could just be a magic parlor trick. So from that view, There really is no way to know if what is mentioned in the bible is real or some people trying to control other people with theocracy.

The only fair thing you could do is show ever single person that you can create an apple ex nihilo. It is not fair to expect people to believe that you have this power without any evidence.

The only evidence you could provide is by showing him directly and showing that you can repeat it. Thus in order to expect anyone to believe god is real he present himself as he did for those in the old testament. Its not reasonable to expect people to believe the bible simply on its word. (pun intended)

Sounds like you're giving up before you even try.

His perspective would be wrong, wouldn't it?

Are you saying you think your friend would think you're trying to control him with horticulture?

I'm out of the picture @ this point.

Once I create the apple, my part is finished.

Besides, if I created an apple a million times after that in front of a million people, would it be evidence that I created your apple ex nihilo?

My OP says nothing about lack of evidence.

In fact, it is asking you what evidence you would use.

I did my part in the OP ... it's all up to you now.

Nope -- wrong perspective of my challenge.

    I've done my part.

I don't know your friend, don't know where he lives, who he is, what he looks like, or anything.

    He's your friend, not mine.

It's up to you, not me.

And again, it wouldn't show that I created your apple ex nihilo.

What does this thread have to do with God?

What does this thread have to do with the Bible?

    This is a science thread.

I'm looking for scientific answers -- not Biblical ones.

In other words, you have no answer to this challenge -- again?

Your friend is a dead horse?

AV unless you can actually create an apple ex-nihilo, which you can't your challenge is irrelevant. Get over it. When you can do it come back and we will talk about ways to convince others that you can do it. Since you can't and never will be able to do it stop beating this dead horse or should I say dead apple.

Now if you were to show me an apple in your hand that was old and wrinkled and had worm holes it in and tell me you just created it ex-nihilo I would know for sure you were being deceptive about something, especially if there was historical record of someone seeing that wormy old apple in your hand prior to the time you claimed to have created it. If the old wrinkly apple was covered with dirt that you claimed to have washed off a few minutes prior with a "great flood" and then "cleaned up" by magically replacing the dirt I would really know you were pulling my leg, especially if I had records of people who had seen the dirt covered apple before you allegedly flooded it.

    I don't think so -- it's a hypothetical.

    Feel free to participate.

I will when I'm satisfied with an answer; which, by the way, I am.

Corvus Corax, in my opinion, gave a good, honest answer.

It shouldn't matter if I can do it in real life or in a hypothetical -- is that going to change your answer?

That "dead horse" is your opinion -- an opinion I don't share.

Let's not add to the OP anything more that what I wrote -- okay?

You might end up confusing yourself (and me too).
