As a sci fi theme I think the plot of a spaceship is detected, tracked into Earth orbit a shuttle lands and aliens emege.
To the surprise of the waiting army, journalists, scientists etc there opening words are
" Please can you tell us about Jesus ? "
They'd laugh themselves to death as soon as they approached our solar system.They would already know before they even
entered the solar system.
And the ones that do know anything about it are the ones that are able to overlook missing links and keep up with all the constant changes?Have you ever noticed that the people who think evolution is false never actually know anything about it?

The see the Earth with eyes that aren’t influenced or nudged in one way or the other. But they are very good at measuring things. How old do you think they will estimate the age of the Earth.

That's kind of how it feels here except they are not more advancedThey'll have travelled across interstellar space. They'd be so far ahead of us technologically it would seem like we were living in the stone age. I hope they'd be mildly interested in us and not decide we were in the way of a hyperspace expressway (a la Vogans in Hitchhikers Guide to The Universe).
