Most people dont know this, but since I was there, working between the fires, I can tell you that the Thomas fire was named after St. Thomas Aquinas college. It has a beautiful campus, and even though the fire is said to have started there, it was miraculously left pretty much unscathed.

Why is the SoCal fire called the "Thomas Fire"?

...If these mudslides are a direct result of the Thomas (Aquinas) fire, then my only point is that the Church has been heavily impacted by all of this.

So we have these two schools directly impacted by natural disasters in CA.
