Constantine, i just got back from watching it and it was fairly freaky. Good movie in itself but can be scarring to your faith.

If you're a relatively new christian, i suggest you avoid it. For your own mind sake, there's alot of demonology in there, stuff you probably want to avoid watching.

Not to mention some biblical inconsistencies but i won't get into that. Won't stop you from watching it, but can't say i didn't warn you.

Considering the title of this thread, can I add Alexander, Shark? That was the worst movie I've ever seen... Alexander may well have been bi-sexual but you reckon they could have been a little less explicit about it? Did they really need to show all they did? And WAY too long

CONSTANTINE? Looks crazy on the adds... thanks for the tip-off, Shark

Good, so I wasn't the only person who walked away disgusted and feeling dirty after watching Alexander. I thought it would be like Gladiator or Troy, which were two great films. Alexander (the movie) was just sick!

The last movie I watched that I wish I didn't was Hannibal - learned my lesson about watching psychological thrillers that are just too demented. Gave me nightmares for weeks.

You know, God is good about giving you discernment when you need it. If you have doubts about a movie that you would like to see, pray for wisdom to know God's will about it. I've gotten strong gut feelings about watching movies, and by looking at the ads or reading the blurbs, wouldn't have thought they'd be harmful, but God put it on my heart to steer clear, so I did. Same for reading books or listening to music. He really wants us to walk in His will and His will for us means to avoid harmful influences as much as possible. You may not even realize something could be an issue for you spiritually but God knows your heart and the areas of temptation you struggle with, and He will always provide a way through.

if you have doubts about a movie, just dont' watch it - i mean, really, what are you going to loose by NOT watching it? if you have doubts, don't even bother risking it, there are more important things to do in life than watch movies - and for the most part, you don't gain anything real from watching most movies anyway - do something more productive with your time :)

Well, seeing as I watch movies about three times a month, and no television, and have plenty of creative ability, I'm not too concerned about how I use my time productively.
The reason I presented my view the way I did is because my husband and I don't often see the movie trailers like most people who sit in front of a tv every night do, and often rely on word of mouth or reading the blurbs on the backs of the dvd packaging to find out what a particular movie may contain. Sometimes it's not clear if there may be something questionable in the movie and even if there wouldn't be anything 'wrong' with it, sometimes God just doesn't want us watching things for His own reasons. We want to honor God with our choices out of obedience and He may put on our hearts not to watch something that may seem perfectly ok on the outside.

Thanks for the warning sharky.... I was going to go and see it... but something was telling me not to... this has just confirmed I shouldn't see it... I totally agree with you wolflilly... We should always go where and do what god is leading us to do... soo many movies I wish I hadn't seen, and the worst part is that they dont just go away the memories stay forever.... I'd say Idle Hands is a really good movie to stay away from... Satanic themes, sex, and some pretty bad notions, it also tries to make a jpke ouit f alot of stuff that shouldn't be joked about, if you know what I mean.....

A friend of mine who saw it said it was interesting, but that there were some suicide scenes that she almost couldn't stomach. Haven't seen a movie that I'd consider to be substandard (my standard being a watchable movie that doesn't need to turn to worldly pleasure to make the film good) since Matrix Reloaded and the totally unnecessary love scene about half an hour into it

You'd have to be preeety mushy in the brain to be able to be warped by Constantine. If your faith was changed by this movie, I'd like to discuss a matter of selling you a bridge in New York, if you like. :)

When spiritual eyes are open, simple movies can affect someone's faith.

Well technically if you're a non believer you generally don't have anything to lose in that sense.

But hey, if christians can stomach it, then by all means i won't stop anyone.

I enjoy watching any kind of movie. Constantine, no big deal, but for others, it could be.

Lithium Hobo, you know what desensitisation is? Because that is the cruel experiment Hollywood is playing on us all, mate.

I try to stay away from all Hollywood "historical" movies, I cry when they mince a good historical event. :p Alexander, Troy, Gladiator, Pearl Harbour, Enemy At The Gates are the ones that first spring to my mind to avoid.

Then they're faith wasn't strong enough in the first place to be effected by a movie based off a graphic novel.
