In another thread on the Drones that are used in modern war - I began to realize that people have no idea what war is all about. For at least 60 years we have had what they call a COLD war with Russia. This is based on retaliation and mutual destruction. If we were to have an all our war with Russia then what is the chance that anyone would survive? Maybe 10% off the people that are off the grid could somehow live off of the land to survive. This is why we elected Trump. He does not put us in harms way the way past presidents have. He gets our soldiers OUT of the line of fire. He talks to the enemy to try to work out a deal so we can avoid armed conflicts. Just as the president of Turkey was in the White House this week talking to Trump about the situation over there with their use of drones in that armed conflict.

Yeah, so this is really old news.

The 10% off the grid you mention would have to deal with radioactive clouds and nuclear winter. It's an extinction level event for the human race. The doomsday scenario.

On the bright side, it would cancel the risk of global warming. Not that anyone would be around to care.

I think it would be a good idea to have a weekend home off the grid. Even as a challenge to learn how to survive without an infrastructure. What if they took out our power grid? How long would it take to rebuild just that? Unless we believe we are going to get raptured out of here.

My wife is from the Philippines. She would be happy to move back there. They say that it would be more difficult for us to move to third world nations then it would be for a person from a third world nation to get into American today.
