• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Romans 8:35-39  "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Have you ever felt down or depressed?  Have you ever felt defeated or feel like you are hitting rock bottom?  Have you ever felt that no matter what you do, where you go, what you say, that you fail and can't make any progress?

Did you know that Jesus's love breaks through all those things?  That no matter what you are going through, as a child of the Almighty, the love of your Savior is with you and in you.  There is nothing that can take that love away from you, there is nothing that can rob you of the love, hope, joy and peace that is found in Christ Jesus.

In this passage of Romans we read, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"  Are you going through a trial or are in distress?  Do you feel or are being persecuted?  Are you on your last dollar and don't know where the next one will come from?  These things can be difficult to bear, but they can not seperate you from the love of your Savior.  The next part of the passage is a blunt reminder that our lives as followers of Christ will not be a bed of roses.  Our Savior died because He loves us and all of the apostles died because they loved Him.  We may not be put to death because we are Christians but we can be sure that Satan will try and bring us down.  He will pull all the low dirty tricks to make us feel defeated and make us feel like giving up. But read on in this passage.  "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."  In all these things we are more than conquerors!  Satan can't defeat, the victory is ours in Christ.  We are not just conquerors we are more than conquerors!  We are not winners, we are more than winners!  We are so far from defeated, that it doesn't even show up on the radar!  Why are we conquerors?  Why are we winners?  Because the of the love of Christ.  We are not conquerors because of anything that we can do.  We are powerless without Christs' love.  It is Hid victory and His love and His grace and His power that gives us the victory.

The passage continues on and restates this principle again for those who didn't get it the first time around. "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord"  Nothing can seperate us from the love of God.  Not death of anyone that we love, nor our own death.  Nor life or anything in this life.  Angels and demons can't come between God's love and us.  No distance can be too great to sperate us.  And no creature or person can seperate us from the love of God.

But then why do I feel seperated?  Why do I feel defeated?  The answer is, 'are you persuaded?'  Are you convinced that nothing can seperate you from the love of God?  Are you convinced that nothing can defeat you in the love of God?  If you are not convinced, if you have doubts, you are opening yourself to Satans lies.  You are allowing him to get footholds in your life and bring you down.  He can not defeat you, but by not being convinced and persuaded in what Christ has done for you and His love for you, you let yourself take on a spirit of defeat.

God has given us everything we need to make it through this short life.  He has given His Word, His Spirit and His armor.  Do you read and meditate on His Word?  Do you pray to God and listen to His Spirit?  Do you daily take up ALL the armor of God?  If you answered no to any of these, then you need to change that aspect of your life.  Pray to God.  Ask Him for help.  Don't stop praying.  Don't stop reading His Word.  And don't go into war without your armor.

You are not alone in this battle.  God is with you and in you.  He has also placed you next to other warriors on the battle field of life.  Link arms with the warrior next to you.  Ask for help.  Ask for prayer.  The advice and prayer of a warrior of God can be very helpful in getting you through some battles.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord"

Are you persuaded?
