My conservative Facebook friends are saying the following about his death:
"He died from stage 4 Colon cancer"
"Yep he died from the cancer but of course they'll report it as Coronavirus like they do with all the other ones"
"His death is a hoax - he's alive somewhere and wanted out of the spotlight and Trump helped give that to him"
"He probably had a flu and with his cancer it killed him - it's NOT Covid"
"No masks would have helped him at all"

I'm stunned and appalled

yeah....idiots, on a day the us MAY but probably not hit 2k deaths again....thats their response.

I hate to admit that I laughed at this one.

It is unfortunate that his legacy is sullied by his political endeavors.

My condolences to his family and friends. Hopefully the rest of us can take it as a reminder of how deadly this disease can be, that you can even seem to be recovering and relapse (appears to frequently happen), and that we need to protect those with risk factors (such as being a senior citizen).

Indeed it is serious. My wife lost her 62 year old step-brother to COVID on Monday. Tragically, it appears his 30 year old son transmitted the virus to him. The son and his wife recovered. We don't know what other complicating factors were involve other than he had Lupus.

There's a distinction between my "friends" and "Facebook friends"... There is some overlap in that my friends are mostly also Facebook friends, but my Facebook friends are not necessarily my friends. IOW, by "Facebook friends" I mean we are linked as "friends" in Facebook, although I don't even know many of them in person. But on the surface you'd be right about having to re-evaluate them.
