I haven't been swimming in a long time, as I don't have access to a pool and cannot afford a membership to somewhere that has a pool long term.

Just watching an old game show..... I remember buying things from Service Merchandise. Had they lasted till now they probably would have been huge online today. Sears also could have gone internet with their catalog.
I bought a lot of things mail order back in the 80s and 90s because I could save a fortune. I once bought 2 15 foot printer cables for $4 each that were 15 feet long not sold in stores when local stores were selling printer cables for $25 each. The internet is ultimate mail order I've bought a few things from Home Depot shipped to their stores for cheaper than local prices in other stores.
