Me and my wife have a disagreement, about a job that was offered to me. Just want some feedback. From fellow Christians.

I have seen several lists of immoral or semi-immoral jobs. There are obvious ones; prostutute, drug dealer, or hitman. But what my question is in the grey area like casino workers.

I thought about giving more details but I am afraid that it would feel like appealing to emotion. I'll keep it basic. I don't need this job, but I will need a job soon. This was the first one that was offered.

The job is a doorman at a bar, known better as a bouncer. Main job is checking IDs and stopping peopke that are clearly intoxicated from getting in. I have been a doorman before for music concerts, thats why this job wanted me to start soon.

The arguments me and my wife have been considering.

Against: the establishment sole purpose is to sell intoxicants that many patrons overindulge. I could be seen as supporting this. While they offer pool, music, and Karaoke we all know the main reason people are there is to drink.

Pro-arument: I would be helping people get home safe, and protect people from harm. And what peoples personal choice in the establishment is theirs. While people may drink too much my job would be to stop them from getting out of hand.

Don't 'bounce' around too much ! :) ( haha ) ......
Remember the testimony of a bartender who got saved years ago:

He lived like most people all his life, without regard for God , daily sinning since He had not Christ.

One day after years of bartending, he heard the Gospel GOOD NEWS of Salvation in Jesus, repented and was immersed in Jesus' Name, and became a new man, a new creation.

For 2 more years he was , peacefully, without strain nor doubt nor worry on his conscience,
still bartending. No one said anything to him about this, and no one needed to .

Then, God spoke to his heart, he heard the Shepherd's Voice, "stop".....

He took off his bartending apron, walked out the door, and never bartended again.

Always living with a clear undefiled conscience before God , as stated in Scripture.

If God does, I take it. It better be a very clear message though. None of the butterfly flap ones. Ive got 2 kids and a mortgage. Kidding, but for now my plan is to stay stateside.

Good. (I think)
Was thinking about , as written in Yahweh's Word: do not say (even) tomorrow we will go do business in such a such city; rather say Yahweh Willing we will go and do business. (for we don't know if we will even be alive tomorrow, let alone what we will be doing)

Are you aware that Pope Francis worked as a nightclub bouncer while in seminary?
