Modis BJP cuts off the bank accounts of Indian Evangelicals

The Zentrum fuer Mission and Oekumene here in Germany has been informed by the Jaipur Evangelical Church and the Northern Evangelical Lutheran church in Assam that their bank accounts have been frozen by the central government of India. I will post a link when one becomes available but do not have one at present to share. So I will share more info about these organisations instead. As a result of this action salaries cannot be paid and educational initiatives for children in these organisations are being sabotaged. The church is clearly terrified of the Brown shirted stick carrying Hindutva mobs that could be directed to hurt them at any time now.

This action is illegal even under Indian law and is clearly unconstitutional. The constitution protects Christians from such persecution. Western governments need to take action now to ensure that this abuse of Indian citizens by the Indian government ceases immediately and that those who are perpetrating these illegal acts are held to account by the courts and the government as soon as possible.

Please pray for the church in India at this difficult time.
