  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

So young lady and young woman aren't synonymous?

Of course not. Not every woman is a lady. Miley Cyrus is a young woman, but certainly NOT a young lady, by any stretch of the imagination.

I believe that there is something in everyone of us. Make and female alike that wants very much to be the perfect model of a man and the perfect model of a woman (and I don't mean outwardly...I mean inwardly)

But I believe that the world and disappointments cause many to be hardened only to protect themselves from being hurt

What I am saying is I'm not sure that a Miley Cyrus really wants to be what she portrays herself to be

I should hope she doesn't want to be like that. I think in a way, you are right. There is a God-shaped hole in every heart. But, I also think there are people who are satisfied enjoying the pleasures of sin. Kind of like Esau, they think about what feels good and don't really think about spiritual matters that much, if at all. Hedonism, I suppose- it seems to be the prevailing philosophy of the day. "It's your thing, do what you want to do."

It is a shame, but it seems to be what most people in Hollywood are about, getting attention in the any way possible, including demeaning yourself in such a way. Unfortunately, the younger generations think this is the way to behave. After all, the Kim Kardashians and Miley Cyruses of the world get a lot of attention and acclaim.

I think too, we have too remember the ROOT. The Bible clearly says "The love of money is the root of ALL evil."

At the root of it is loving money and what comes with money. There is little doubt in my mind that Cyrus or Kardashian or Beyonce or etc. would have so much money if they did not degrade themselves. Sex sells, modesty doesn't.

I wonder when they are older if they will look back and realize that degrading themselves was not really worth it, after all.

Merriam Webster states a usually unmarried young woman of grace, manners, or distinction.

Well, Miley Cyrus has no grace or manners. I suppose she IS distinctive for the wrong reasons.

Not necessarily. A woman may have good manners but not be graceful in her movements. Clumsy women can have good manners.

I doubt a woman with bad manners can be graceful. They don't go together, one would think.

I guess it depends on whether the word 'grace' is being used in a general way or a specifically Biblical and theological way.

When referring to a person, how can grace be used in a theological way?

I guess this was my point; it's being used differently.
