Ministry of Christ was 2 years if you go by passovers alone.

The first passover would be the one in 29 AD and the last one (crucifixion) would be in 31 AD.

This idea of a 3.5 year ministry stems mostly from Daniel:

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Rightly so, that many correlate this verse to Christ. However, the understanding you need to take when approaching these 70 weeks is as it relates to Sabbatical weeks. The word for "midst" really should be thought of "half" the week. Jesus near the end of the week in a Sabbatical year in which the 7th month of that year would be the 80th Jubilee. So in other words, Jesus is crucified in 31 AD and the 7th lunar month after the Spring Equinox on the 10th day - Day of Atonement is the Jubilee (80). The 70 weeks prophecy is a 10 Jubilee prophecy.

Thanks for sharing. What we do know is how long He preached on earth after John the Baptist baptized Him and that was 42 months. It is a prophesy fulfilled in Daniel.
Blessings.

It couldn't have been though because Jesus turned 30 in Tiberius 15th year which was in 28-29 AD. Jesus was born in December around December 2nd. There are only 3 Passover's mentioned. This means that His Ministry could only be 2 years based on the Passovers.

If we have a complete record of all the Passovers, if the first Passover in John’s Gospel is in chronological order and not a late copyist error mentioning a Passover twice, then you might assume two years. Others assumed three years. There was one festival of tabernacles recorded, one Hanukkah recorded. This may mean his ministry was one year, but I can not know the exact duration of Jesus’ public ministry.

Jesus birth was thought to be when shepherds were in the fields with their sheep. That could have been any time, but others thought it was during lambing season.

But the Magi followed a "star". That star was Jupiter. And it stops precisely at the time of the Feast of Lights on December 2nd in 3 BC.
