Michael Cohen, the former personal lawyer of Donald Trump, on Thursday sued the Trump Organization, accusing it of failing to reimburse him for legal fees he incurred on matters arising from his work on its behalf. In a complaint filed in a New York state court in Manhattan, Cohen said the Trump Organization breached its obligations to indemnify him after it became clear he would cooperate in investigations into his work, including Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian influence in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Cohen sues Trump Organization over fees

It's not an unusual accusation to be made against Trump on account of how hundreds have alleged that Donald Trump doesn’t pay his bills - from lawyers to dishwashers & contractors.

Watching Cohen on the witness stand was like watching a hostage video.

It's like someone is holding a gun to his head while he talks.

I agree. I never thought one way or the other about Michael Cohen, but seeing what he was put through (like an inquisition and THEN some) and the threat to put his wife in prison for 30 years, gave me pause.

    God have mercy.

Didn't he receive a "life sentence"?

There's apparently no limit to what they will do to get him to say what they want him to say.

Nobody was holding a gun to Trump's head during the decade Cohen worked for him as his attorney & fixer. What we are discussing here is Cohen suing Trump for unpaid legal fees for that work. Now if you & Brinny want to discuss something else, please make a thread for yourselves on that topic instead of derailing this one.

There was no intention to derail.

    I apologize.

It's just heartbreaking to see this.

They basically terrorized Cohen. It's sad.

Yes, Republicans terrorized Cohen & his family. It was a total disgrace & I feel sorry for them. But what we're discussing here is that Cohen is suing Trump for failing to pay legal fees due to him. If you can't stay on that topic, please leave.

Not really surprising that Trump would stiff someone to whom he owes money. It has been his M.O. for years.

James 5:4 comes to mind. Trump has a long history of being accused of failing to pay folks who did work for him, from laborers to lawyers. The injustice & immorality of that is heartbreaking. If Cohen was not paid for legal fees due to him, I hope Donald is forced to pay them in full.

Witnesses in RICO trials generally look like that.

You may be confusing him with another Trump connected crime figure: Paul Manafort.

His sentence is 36 months, he will have to serve 85% of his sentence, and if he behaves, he will get that cut on his sentence. There is no parole in the Federal Prison System for crimes committed after 1986 (I think)

Of course he had a proverbial gun to his head.

Was it an instrument to tell the truth, or the same instrument that cause him to lie to Congress?

You are watching the world act out a theater show; be entertained, not alarmed.
