Mexican cartel members – who for years have carried out large scale, hidden pot-growing operations in U.S. national parks in California – are poisoning water and wildlife through the use of illegal pesticides banned by the Environmental Protection Agency, according to a new report published Tuesday.

The Mexican cartels are raising havic in the United States.

Decriminalize/legalize pot, rent land to US citizens in these parks for growing--with inspections and chemical regulations. Issue permits for legal tenants to use all the firepower they like to defend their businesses from foreign incursions in locations remote from high-density law enforcement.

I though conservatives don't "worship the environment" like liberals.

Another stereotype is that liberals are the only ones that do. I guess both of them are stupid stereotypes. (shrugs)

Sadly, this has been going on for a while. There have been stories about the cartels doing all kinds nasty things including harming our environment.

"The mountain lion population in California is exposed to anticoagulant rodenticides at a rate well over 90%," she says. "We're just getting data on rodents, the prey base for all the species that are of concern when you're talking mountain lions, fishers, foxes, spotted owls other forest raptors, the prey base that is supporting these species is contaminated."

That exposure is starting to turn up in damage to wildlife offspring, including those of Pacific fishers, an elusive carnivore in the weasel family that prefers remote forests. It's a candidate for listing under the federal and California Endangered Species Act.
