  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

    Psa 61:7 Let him [the king] be seated in God’s presence forever.
    Appoint your mercy and truth to protect him.

    The idea of mercy and truth being protective is repeated throughout the Psalms. What does it mean?
    We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

    Andrewn, what does it mean to you?

    Here is the scriptures in its full context, of Psalm 61 in the NIV format.

    1 Hear my cry, O God;
    listen to my prayer.

    2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;
    lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
    3 For you have been my refuge,
    a strong tower against the foe.

    4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
    and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
    5 For you, God, have heard my vows;
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

    6 Increase the days of the king’s life,
    his years for many generations.
    7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;
    appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

    8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
    and fulfill my vows day after day.

    We can see David calling out to God, who is seen as his refuge. While David grows weary and his heart is faint, He ask to take him to rock (you know how the sea/world likes to drown you out).

    David longs to dwell inside the home of God forever, to receive shelter from the (world at large possibly?).

    David confirms God has heard him, and his vows, and has given him the heritage (one day we will leave this world and be with God's home, which God will build us a home (spiritual body) made by his hands.

    David ask for the kings days to be increased, and his years for many generations (talking about Jesus Christ to come (Who lives forever)). David ask God for his mercy and truth / love and faithfulness (to protect the king- The Son of God).

    David says that he will forever sing in the praise of your name, and fulfill my vows day after day (Living for Christ who gives us new life when we die to our old life).

    I don't know if this is helpful or not.

    My thoughts on those concepts in general...

    Showing mercy to others can encourage them to do the same, especially when it's from a leader. People in positions of power set examples for everyone else. A King or Ruler who lets the mercy of God guide their principles is more likely to be successful and peaceful than they are to be a tyrant.

    God's truth is unchanging. By holding on to that truth as the bedrock of leadership, the King doesn't have to worry about changing his opinion, beliefs, and protocols to please specific groups of people. As long as he stands fast to the expectations of the Lord, he will find the answers that are best for all.
