It seems to me that most people feel she is unhappy, thrust into a role she didn't want, and, of course, married to Donald Trump. They are sympathetic to how difficult her life must be.

Trump Tower is deluged with protesters daily. When we visited NY, my niece's boyfriend, who works a few blocks away, say they can hear the protesters from their high rise offices---a few blocks away. "We laugh," he said. He said that 99% of his colleagues aren't Trump supporters, which sounds about right for residents of my home state.

Gotta feel sorry for Melania. Being married to Trump is bad enough, but to have to act happy about the fact, in public, is even tougher.

My issue isn't that it was the Lord's prayer or praying at all. I feel like the whole scenario was simply designed as another way to manipulate people- and I don't think Melania is the one that came up with the idea. I am always skeptical when religion and prayer is used in such a way. I'm sorry, but I am. However, I am also concerned as to how manipulated and controlled Melania Trump herself is.

Religion has always been intertwined in our life in the US. We pray during the inauguration, our money says "in God we trust". Our pledge of allegiance says "one nation under God"

And every session of Congress opens with prayer, as does every day Supreme Court. Prayer is a part of public life in the USA.
