This is a nature poem I wrote while I was reading the Bible on a river bank. I hope this brings you enjoyment. God be with us!
Down by the river,
Where the water flows,
The birds are singing,
And my love for you grows.
As I look at the scenery,
I ponder your glory,
As I look at the greenery,
I think of your lovely story.
In my hands I hold a library,
Teaching me the details of You.
As I peer upon the words in red,
I remember that you love me, too.
The trees which overhang the water,
Crafted by You into an archway above the river,
And the branches sway with the wind,
As God's imagination is being presented.
There is nothing but peace and love for You
In my heart as I sit by the flowing waters,
Across from which sits a large and dark barn,
The horses feed upon the grass.
And my God is here with me,
As I admire the work of His hands.
Every creature and every creation,
Announces the power and glory that God commands.
The waters witness me as they go by,
Reading and praising to the Most High,
My God joins me on the bank of the river,
The wind is cool; it produces in me a shiver.
There I remind myself yet again,
That God is glorious and worthy of worship.
All that I see was created by His hands,
And I am sure He rose from that crypt.
Down by the river,
Where the water flows,
The birds are singing,
And my love for you grows.
As I look at the scenery,
I ponder your glory,
As I look at the greenery,
I think of your lovely story.
In my hands I hold a library,
Teaching me the details of You.
