I read Fast Food Nation and don't do McDonald's anymore. But I confess--I treat myself to In N' Out sometimes. Road trip...In N' Out sign on the highway...it's like the car almost pulls itself over to get in the line. Anyway that's the only fast food chain that manages to break me down. :) Plus their food containers have Bible verses on them. I have to show my support.
Oh my Lord, In N Out shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as McDonalds. I'm a burger conniesseur (even though I cant spell it! ^_^) and aside from a home-cooked burger, it doesnt get any better than In N Out. The meat quality is so high, you watch the fries being made from real potatoes, oh Lord it is so good!

No fast food restraunts are not good for you. They make you gain bunches of weight and it tastes pretty disgusting. I hate mickyd's. Burger King is okay and I like Dairy Queen, even though I know it's not good with me.

But MicDonalds is gross. If you like it you should watch Super Size me. It is a REALLY good example why fast food is bad.

I wrote a term paper against McDonald's when I was in grade 10 and I got a GREAT mark on it, http://www.goveg.com was my main source.
I am not a vegan or vegetarian, I have milk and hamburger but I see the health benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle combined with exercise.
My boyfriend, he is on the other end of the spectrum. He eats at McDonald's everyday... when I go with him I get a small Rolo milkshake. He gets a hamburger meal, upsized with a McChicken also! And he smokes. (Ew) He is working on quitting smoking. And we are walking together now. The weather is starting to get cold and I would love to go swimming at the gym, so we talked about doing that for the winter!

Well I used to work at McDonalds over here in New Zealand. And McDonalds NZ has some things different - some the same. We have huge dairy and meat exports, all our burgers have 100% real beef export quality etc... Our Yoghurt is all good and milk etc. However. I hardly eat there, maybe 2 times a year. I just dont think its good to eat Proccessed food like that. Plus I dont like the taste!! But each to there own. I think excersise and moderation is the way to go in life.

In America, before the meat patties are cooked they are about .3 cm tall and are really dusty and really frozen and you could drop them from a 2 meters and they wouldn't break :|.

I can guarantee that they are not dusty. People need to wake up and realise that McDonalds is not the problem, it's not the one making people fat, its the people that have been brought up to have no self control! McDonalds is actually a great company overal in the way that they employ people who have never worked before and train them so they have a starting point to go get another job. The food there is clean. They have such a great record of hygene, and there is NO animal fat in the milkshakes! Haha. Sorry for the rambling. Of course the meat patties are frozen! I disagree with the factof them being .3cm tall. Has anyone ever eaten chinese recently? Sometimes I would much rather eat from McDonalds than from that dodgy little chinese shop down the rd! (not that I eat at McDs but anyways.) I encourage people to actually go and do their research before badmouthing things.

Exactly!! The guy in "super size me" only ate junk... if you go and eat at Mcdonald's all the time, you can actually LOSE weight and lower cholestorol.... if you only eat salads, the parfaits etc. and don't have 50 servings per meal, than it can be even better than a lot of the food people cook themselves.

I work at a thatre and at Mcdonald's right now and McDonald's is HUGELY clean and uptight about quality. The franchises aren't always as great, but headquarters keeps an eye on them as well as their regular restaurants and there's nothing wrong.

The problem is the people who eat there, not the restaurant. Make good chocies and you'll be fine, eat like a pig on steroiads and you'll end up having a heart attack. It's the same thing as anywhere else, but it's just easier to pig out at Mcdonald's because it's less expensive than places that aren't fats food and people want to blame someone other than themselves.

Obviously... they're FROZEN!! They're not dusty, they're FROSTY like anything else you store in a freezer for a while!!

Seriously... I'm tired of people blaming health on McDonald's... it's fine but if you don't like it, eat somewhere else!

McDonald's and other fast foods are yummy. And fast =). That's why I like it. Just dont eat it for every single meal. I dont think we needed a documentary like "super Size Me" to tell us that eating fast food every day is bad for you...

The guy in Super Size Me, Morgan Spurlock didn't only eat "junk" he ate everything on the menu at least once. Also,Fruit 'n Yogurt Parfaitis 160 calories and I personally would just go get a normal yogurt and put in real, fresh fruit from the local farmer's market.

If he ate everything on the menu at least once... then obviously he DID eat junk... big macs, crispy chickens etc... what's your point? Of course he ate junk!

And parfaits (at least in Canada) are made fresh daily with realy yogurt (danone brand in Canada) and organically-grown fruit... faster and healthy, what's the problem with parfaits??
