"May I" say the Jesus Prayer for other people?

Assume nothing. I've yet to say a prayer for anyone's salvation, other than a dog named "Benji".

Anyone living, I meant. I think I prayed a prayer at my father's funeral. If not, I did later.

Don't you think with the Jesus Prayer maybe it is a good idea to limit it to the living? Because otherwise we might be late to work erryday.

As in, I feel like one ought to acknowledge their own sins, before one prays forgiveness for the sins of another. Or perhaps simultaneously, and silently. IDK.

"Have mercy" isn't necessarily asking for forgiveness of sin. Mercy can mean the forgiveness of sins, but it can also mean God's faithful and merciful help. Asking "Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on 'xxx'" can mean much more than just asking for forgiveness from sin.

Do you know what, though? It does feel a bit "off" to end there, which is probably why I wanted advice.
It's too self-gratifying, I think. As in either it's too easy, and cute, or basically just too cute. Although maybe there is something to be said for cute prayers, idk.
