That's a bit wide of a brush to wield.

Not really...it's consistent with the pattern of behavior we've seen before.

Liberals push reduce vehicle emissions
Conservative response:
Buying an oversized pickup or SUV and slapping this sticker on it
upload_2021-9-30_19-13-36.png

Liberals try to get people to reduce beef consumption and eat more plant-based for the environment
Conservative response:
Why Right Wingers Are Going Crazy About Meat
Fox and several right wing pundits start promoting the carnivore diet

Liberals try to ban plastic straws
Conservative response:
Conservatives Are Now Drinking From Plastic Straws to Own the Libs

Ted Cruz even went as far as making bacon by wrapping it around the barrel of a gun and firing it until the bacon was cooked:
Ted Cruz Makes 'Mmm ... Machine-Gun Bacon'

One could even argue that the massive appeal of Trump to conservatives was to "own the libs".

Would that matter ultimately? Afterall, person A was vaccinated, person A still got covid. What "exposure profiles" do we have from covid data to compare it to?

I understand the need to poke holes in any numbers that would counter the narrative, but if it's true, why suppress it?

Gross and presumptuous leap to conclusion at best without an autopsy. The numbers show people who died with covid, not of it.
Then the people died with the vaccine, not from it.

This is from Sept. 23rd:

Israel's unvaccinated 'a strain on hospitals'; COVID patients on life support peak

Unvaccinated Israelis are putting a strain on hospitals, Nachman Ash, the Health Ministry's coronavirus director-general said Thursday, as official figures showed that the 17 percent of eligible Israelis who have not received the vaccine account for 60 percent of coronavirus deaths in the past two weeks.

"Illness today is mainly among the unvaccinated, [and] they are straining the hospitals," Ash said. The strain is mainly felt by medical workers, he said – specifically, those working in emergency wards....

View attachment 306506

■ Israel's 17% unvaccinated account for 89% of ECMO patients
■ And 65% of serious cases and 60% of deaths
Perhaps in July- August, the fully vaccinated were less careful, were more likely to pick up the virus? For short time the vaccinated did have more cases, but it did not stay that way.
I can't read this. Page won't come up. Got another source?

It means nothing out of context. For example, journalists have been screaming that hospital ICUs are at full capacity and all is dire. But then, when you into the numbers, the ICU's run at 90% full most of the time anyway.

Funny. Where I live folks like you will argue "They are running at 87% capacity. What's the big deal".

BUT, they are ACTUALLY running at over 100% capacity because they ALMOST doubled the number of beds in the ICU in our province and they have nurses performing tasks they have been inadequately trained for because they've shifted nurses into ICU roles.

And now we have other provinces sending doctors. ANd we have the Canadian Forces sending doctors to our province.

And then there are people who make the same points as in your thread, yelling at doctors and nurses in our ICUs saying it's all fake. While you may not be doing that now, be careful or you may end up there. I know people who have literally "lost loved ones" to conspiracy theories.
But then, when you into the numbers, the ICU's run at 90% full most of the time anyway.
Do you have a STUDY or a meaningful source for that information?

This happens all day every day by liberals as well.

It is disingenuous to pretend this is limited to conservative types.

Liberals do this ALL DAY LONG to conservatives, mocking their faith, their political beliefs, and even doxxing and getting them fired wherever possible. There are current posts on this board where people cheer others losing their jobs. I could probably list such leftist attacks for half an hour, so don't even pretend this is a one-sided thing. There are nut jobs on both ends. The doxxing and threatening online is largely leftist aimed at conservatives, as is true on college campuses, if a kid even dares to admit not being liberal today.

Conservative Business Owner speaks on traditional marriage

Liberal response:

"Scores of same-sex couples celebrated "National Same-Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A" by kissing each other outside some of the fast-food chain's 1,600 stores on Friday night in protest of Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy's controversial public comments against same-sex marriage.

And like Wednesday's "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" organized by Cathy's supporters, the "kiss-in" was largely peaceful--though far less crowded.

In Wichita, Kansas, the owner of the Chick-fil-A handed out free chicken sandwiches and water to gay rights activists gathered for the kiss-in.""

Liberals attempt to undermine campaign and encourage violence by doxxing:

Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX), the twin brother of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro, posted a list of President Trump’s donors who happened to live in his congressional district. His actions were highly praised by the usual suspects on the left, who absolutely loved the fact that he was exposing his own constituents for their political beliefs.

"Castro, twin brother of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro, posted late Monday night on Facebook that he was "sad to see so many San Antonians on this list of maximum donors to Donald Trump." He specifically called out two companies, including a popular BBQ restaurant, and posted a list of 44 donors, with their full names and employers.

Democrat staffer doxxed a number of GOP Senators because he was deranged over the Kavanaugh hearings.

"U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Hogan said the sentence for Jackson Cosko, 27, was needed to send a signal that criminal harassment driven by political motives would be punished severely in an era marked by extreme political polarization.

“We have…a society that has become very vicious,” Hogan said. “It’s very concerning to the court and unfortunate that you played into that.”

In April, Cosko pleaded guilty to five felonies, admitting that after being fired last year from his work as a systems administrator on Hassan’s staff, he repeatedly used a colleague’s key to enter the office, install keylogging equipment that stole work and personal email passwords, and downloaded a massive trove of data from Senate systems.

Cosko also acknowledged that after growing angry about the GOP’s handling of the Supreme Court nomination, he released home addresses and phone numbers of Sens. Lindsry Graham, Orrin Hatch, and Mike Lee on Wikipedia."

The Huffington Post pulled a piece calling for the “execution” of President Donald Trump published Saturday by contributor Jason Fuller.

I would argue that while the level of pettiness may be similar, the same level of externalities don't exist with the different forms of "owning the other side".

For instance, when a person intentionally buys a gas guzzler, or gratuitously uses a bunch of straws (both things that do contribute to actual pollution) like this:
upload_2021-10-3_18-5-21.png

It's not the same as two dudes kissing in front of a chick-fil-a, which is a relatively benign form of a protest.

With regards to things like "Doxing", while I understand how that makes some people uncomfortable...obviously that information was already out there (thus how Doxers were able to find it in the first place).

In most jurisdictions, it's not illegal to simply disseminate information that was already in the public domain in the first place.

Is doxing illegal?
The answer is usually no: doxing tends not to be illegal, if the information exposed lies within the public domain, and it was obtained using legal methods.

In the last link you provided where someone was actually charged, it was because they were hacking to get the information.

That's kind of amazing. It could've been funny if it had been done by some goofy youtube bro and not a massive poser.

Agreed, it'd be kind of light-hearted and goofy if it was Jujimufu doing a challenge video called "Jujimufu makes rifle bacon"

...and not one of the guys currently getting paid almost 200k/year to make legislative decisions for the entire country.

Just playing the hand dealt. Be evenhanded with it, that's all I ask.

I'd agree there is a ditch on both sides. But some are arguing that it is only one side, and that's wrong.
