I think this is an AWESOME idea!
As someone who worries about Nature Deficit Disorder (not as a psychological phenomenon but a sociological one), I feel this kinda thing is absolutely crucial in a society where sooo many people live in cities and are completely disconnected and apathetic to the functioning of the natural world and human's dependence on its health.

And nevermind the fools who can't differentiate between conservation and "the communists are coming" blather.
