Two men and two women, believed to all be aged 18, were taken into custody by Chicago Police on Wednesday after authorities were made aware of the 30-minutes social media video.

The footage shows four black people allegedly holding a white man with special needs hostage in an apartment on the 3400 block of West Lexington on Chicago's West Side on Tuesday.

It was originally posted on Facebook Live by Brittany Herring but has since been deleted from her social media page.

There's some redacted curse words in the story, so I hope that its still okay to post it. If not then take it down, but this is really horrific and I think people should know.

Wow...I thought this was a completely different story. There was a similar incident in Rochester New York where some black guys lured a couple of guys to a house then tortured them for about 48 hours before being arrested. They had shot, stabbed, sexually abused and stolen from the two college male victims. No information on the victims was given as they don't release that info about sexual abuse victims...however, I read that it was "in retaliation" for the robbery of a drug dealer.

You can see pics of the young black man who orchestrated the torture smiling in court as they described his crimes. I think he got something like 158 years.

There need to be severe penalties for people who kidnap and torture the mentally disabled, particularly in this case, where it is clear it was a hate crime.

UPDATE:

CHICAGO (AP) — The Latest on the beating of a man in Chicago that was broadcast live on Facebook (all times local):
7:45 a.m.

Chicago police say they don’t believe a man beaten in an assault broadcast live on Facebook was targeted because he was white.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Thursday morning that charges are expected soon against four black suspects. Guglielmi says the suspects made “terrible racist statements” during the attack, but that investigators believe the victim was targeted because he has special needs, not because of his race.

Police: Race not motive behind video attack

There need to be severe penalties for people who kidnap and torture anyone.

Additionally, people who are stupid enough to commit major criminal acts and live stream them to their Facebook page need to have a long holiday away from contributing to the gene pool, for the good of the species.

People do all sorts of things in live streams, like suicide, there was even a woman that recently died where the family complained no one called in the emergency despite them viewing her demise.

Indeed, but in this case short of calling the filename "Peoples-Exhibit-A" there's very little more they could possibly do to be of service to the District Attorney's office in assembling the case for the prosecution.

Fortunately most of my circle of acquaintances are either not tech-savvy enough to live stream anything, or generally have better things to do.

Red Herring. The topic is about a bunch of black people who targeted a white person who was disabled and severely beat him.

Here is how the police supposedly assessed the motives:

I guess they couldn't hear the references to the person they were beating as being white, and what they thought of that. They can be in denial about it, but everyone in the world with ears to hear can hear it.

There seems to be a strong tendency in the USA for the news media to explain such things away as not being relevant and to prefer to attribute such incidents to other motives. Perhaps it has to do with some official News Media policy, some government admonition to avoid it or a personal fear of being accused of fomenting social unrest? Actually, an immediate denial that racism is the motive is a common American reaction that one encounters whenever acts of racism are reported. You are either confronted with a disbelieving facial expression or the comment of "Oh, I'm sure she or he didn't really mean it that way!" Seems to be a USA cuitizen cultural thing.
