The vast majority of terrorists or even those who committed genocides are males.

Does anyone think this is more of a gender issue than a religious one?

Men hiding behind religion to justify carnal desires?

They see themselves as the greater of the two sexes (yes, TWO sexes) with greater rewards in the afterlife? The greater the reward, the more willing the servant, which would be males?

Interesting question. Looking forward to other ideas, and yours, when it's your time.

The majority of sports fans are males, as are the majority of firefighters and cops and soldiers......It's called testosterone.

On the other hand most prostitutes are women, as are most nurses and teachers etc. I guess whats obvious and common sense alludes many today.

The majority of males aren't terrorists. It's an issue that is found predominantly more within a minority of men and also exists at an even smaller number of women. So it's certainly not an issue whereby the entire gender is guilty by association.

    Basically correlation doesn't imply causation.

We do know that one of the limitations to free speech is when it calls for people to do violence. Another is about the example of screaming fire in a crowded theater. Religion can make use of that but so too can a number of other sectors within society.

I would say it's an issue that starts by pointing a finger and being totally unaware of the three fingers pointing back.

In Islam, you are looking at a patriarchal system. The men teach, the men have authority, and the men are who pass decrees. The women are in the background, this is just the way it is. Therefore, if Islamic radicals are going to attack another religion (Jewish and Christian predominately) it will be done (predominately) by men.

During the Christian Crusades, the majority of perpetrators are males too.

If Church abuse would be classified as act of terror (against women and children/minors) the majority of perpetrators are males as well.

Perhaps, Patriarchy is inherently flawed. Its ugly face is now being revealed in this age of information, the truth is coming out!

I'm not contesting the Bible. Since God originally designed Adam and Eve to be co-leaders. Women only came under the dominion of man as a consequence of Eve's mistake at the Garden of Eden (read Genesis).

But since Jesus uplifted the curse of Genesis..... Eve's mistake doesn't apply to NT anymore. Male and Female should be co-leaders. Equal authority

I don't know what you are looking for... to blame everything on men? God created a man first... he placed man as the head of his house... and where you get the notion that a "HELPER" becomes an "equal" I don't know. "The two become one" might mean one before God... I think it does in PART. But the two also become one in child bearing... ever look at somebody's child? You might look and see mom in the child... I might look and see dad in the child... why? Because the two became one.

Regardless... whether or not a patriarchal society is wrong or not is a question you will need to take up with God. He made man head of his house, even in the NT.

1 Cor 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

That is the authority structure according to God's will. God does not change... just because OUR CULTURE has made women equal, doesn't mean God has changed.

I don't believe, by the way, that men "rule" women. I do believe that God has an authority structure in place. A ship can't have two captains and you propose as a means of leadership.... one driven by logic and one driven by emotion to attempt to come together and make decisions jointly? I would imagine you're not married yet? :) That proposal will work about half the time... the rest of the time nothing will get done because the two will reach an impasse and nobody will have to give according to your proposal.

    I think it's a control/ego thing.

"Men are afraid that women will laugh at them
Women are afraid that men will kill them"

If tomorrow, all the police in the country went on 100% strike for a month and there were no legal consequences for any action taken during that month - would you be worried about being robbed, attacked, killed or raped by women (or that your loved ones would be)?

(I'm sure some people would be, and in a lot of cases it might be personal, but in general from people you didn't know?)

So sure, the majority of terrorists and massacre-makers, shooters, etc are males. If there are no societal consequences, males without a moral code will kill or use violence to get what they want or when they don't get what they want. Females generally don't do that. They tend to be emotional threats rather than physical ones (from the male perspective).

The vast majority of violent crimes are committed by males. Terrorism and genocide are violent crimes so this shouldn't surprise you

The Holy Spirit is said to be our Helper, according to Christ. Yet, it is not inferior to us.

Thus, "helper" does not signify, nor imply rank.

Different use of a different word. We have a Hebrew word that means "help meet" or "helper" and we have a Greek work that means helper or assistant but you are only looking at the English. God made Adam, saw that he was alone and crested somebody for him. Adam retained authority... only modern culture places the woman equal to it above Adam. God does not change.

One of the consequences of Eve's sin is that men would rule over her or all females.

Obviously, the state prior to this is not the same. The obvious answer is that males or man did not rule over women prior to Eve's sin. They would have existed in a state of equality.

It's a society issue, as most cultures are historically patriarchal.

I specifically distanced myself from the word "rule." I will say it again... God created Adam and gave him the authority over all things. Being alone God made her an "êzer" which means aid, assistant, helper. Chavah (Eve) assisted him, was an aid to him, helped him... but wasn't created to stand equal in that sense. We lose the picture of Christ in our own lives when we take the modern (western) position on equality. God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of man, man is the head of woman. In each case, there is an authority above the other. That doesn't mean the "other" is without value.... it just means God created an authority structure. If you don't see that or accept that, that's fine... but it's between you and God, not you and me. :)

Does this imply our religions have been corrupted by worldly ways?

I'm not contesting God. He maybe male but has many feminine qualities, especially, the nurturing, protective, and caring instincts of a mother.

Not to start a gender debate, but women murder 100x as many people each year as men do. (~45,000,000 abortions compared with ~500,000 murders worldwide)

Had it been the case, Eve should have first asked Adam before eating from the forbidden tree.

LOL... that is the point, isn't it. She didn't and look at the result of her acting on her own!

Regardless... believe whatever you want. God does not change, man is the head (authority) of woman... and God does not change. So if you see it another way, it is your secular culture that is influencing your view... not the God who doesn't change.
