Well I already read this whole thread and I know the OP was sarcastic and all that, but I still found it interesting. I'd definitely encourage more interracial marriages, namely for the sake of eliminating racism, if it was possible. Of course the banning of same-race ones would be silly and defeat the purpose, but I guess that's what the sarcasm was there for I'm sure.
All I can really say is YAY for interracial relationships. I love 'em. Personally I see them as refreshing...something new and different for a change...two cultures embracing the other just to spice up their lives even more and be out of the "ordinary," not because of shame, but because of the love of variety and differences. Besides, from my own experience, I'm happy to embrace diversity. I'm latina and have yet to be involved with a guy from my own race. For some reason, they're just not as interested in me like the white and black boys are lol. *shrugs* Dunno what it is.
Granted, my recent ex is half-puerto rican like me, but his other half (african american) was physically more evident. He would easily pass as a black guy. In my honest opinion, I do like the way my skin looks against the skin of a darker man's.
They just compliment each other.
I guess I owe my thanks for that to the newest potential bf in my life now, who is black, as well as my ex. There's just something about different colors that drive me ga-ga.
