Logic about same race marriage

Well I already read this whole thread and I know the OP was sarcastic and all that, but I still found it interesting. I'd definitely encourage more interracial marriages, namely for the sake of eliminating racism, if it was possible. Of course the banning of same-race ones would be silly and defeat the purpose, but I guess that's what the sarcasm was there for I'm sure.

All I can really say is YAY for interracial relationships. I love 'em. Personally I see them as refreshing...something new and different for a change...two cultures embracing the other just to spice up their lives even more and be out of the "ordinary," not because of shame, but because of the love of variety and differences. Besides, from my own experience, I'm happy to embrace diversity. I'm latina and have yet to be involved with a guy from my own race. For some reason, they're just not as interested in me like the white and black boys are lol. *shrugs* Dunno what it is.

Granted, my recent ex is half-puerto rican like me, but his other half (african american) was physically more evident. He would easily pass as a black guy. In my honest opinion, I do like the way my skin looks against the skin of a darker man's. They just compliment each other. I guess I owe my thanks for that to the newest potential bf in my life now, who is black, as well as my ex. There's just something about different colors that drive me ga-ga.

Only when creatures are completely forced, in every sense of the word, do they mix their race. Other than that, they stay within themselves. Human beings, on the other hand, with choice, free will and reason, sometimes labor to go against the tide. Your choice, but in the long term I wouldnt recommend it.

Does that affect his humanity and turn him into some alternate species of animal? Does it mean he's not a homo sapien like the white woman? As far as I can tell, the answer's no, and the only thing "unnatural" about interracial relationships is people's sneering of it for no reason other than the physical aspects of it. I'm no marriage expert, but I'm quite sure that successful marriages are based MOSTLY on everything that goes on INSIDE of the people, not because of a few meaningless differences on the outside. I certainly am not forced to mix with another race, so be careful with generalizations.

The difference between you and me is I look at "themselves" as another word for "humanity," whereas you seemingly look at it as something beyond that (correct me if I'm wrong), like particular skin color, body structure, or whatever other physical characteristic that differ among races as being reason enough to stick with "your own selves." But hey, if that's a good enough reason for people out there, then that's cool. But that's not going to apply to everyone. I can understand if the human race was like the felines, in which it's obvious that a common house cat couldn't be with a lion because of body structures and because of...well...the housecat being more like food to the big lion. But are people like cats? It's quite known already that even people of different body proportions can still procreate, like a little person (I don't like saying "midgets") can still have sex and father a baby with an average-sized human being. Going against the tide only makes one stronger, in my opinion. And if you knew me personally, you'd know that I'm not one to go with the flow, especially if the flow doesn't bring out my individuality. I don't do what everyone else is doing, and that's what makes me ME.

Awww, well thanks for your recommendation, but I don't need it, because frankly, people can never tell me a good enough reason to stay away from other races. So you betcha it's my choice. Every time I see a person sneering at me for walking hand in hand with a black man, I just cling to him even more. I LOVE driving them crazy with their own idealogy about what SHOULD be and what SHOULDN'T be, because seriously...it's rather silly. If they wanna get all bent out of shape then that's their problem. As far as I'm concerned, as long as my love interest is a human being then he's quite capable of being loved by me, ANOTHER human being. What makes a rainbow beautiful is all the various colors sticking together in unison.

No it shouldn't. No offense intended, but there is absolutly no good reason at all to ban a perfectly good thing as same race marriage.

Now interraccial marriage is another topic (doesn't the Bible say something about it)

Unfortunately, the author of the original post should have stuck with the idea that interracial marriage should be ENCOURAGED, and not mandated.

I am very much for interracial and intercultural marriages - but it shouldn't be mandated.

This comes on the anniversary of Emmet Till's lynching death. And today, at least 15 US Senators refused to sign an affirmation apologizing for lynchings in this country.

I believe that the more we encourage interracial marriages, inter-cultural, and indeed, in some cases, inter-RELIGIOUS marriages, that we will bridge this divide between people. Hatred will eventually go away.

There is absolutely no reason why two people of difference races should not marry on account of that difference.

However, I do think it will be somewhat a loss to the world if one day there is one homogenous race, instead of the many we have today. Each ethnicity has different traits which render them different kinds of beauty; when the world has only one big race, which is what will probably happen, even though there will no longer be racism, we also won't have those different beauties.

And there is also the fact that each culture is somewhat linked to a particular race; when European countries are no longer white, African countries no longer black and Asian countries no longer oriental, but all of them a mixture of the world races, that will also be a loss.

In short, there is no reason to be against inter-racial marriage, but it is also not deniable that it will have negative as well as positive social results in the long term.
