There is already inter-racial marriage. Doing away with same-race marriage would cut down on biodiversity due to the inexorable averaging out of variety. Furthermore, as this average became more and more visually recognizable, it would form a race within itself and would then be subject to all the same prejudices that other races already experience.

Plus, it's just silly.

Why does marriage have to be interacial? Interacial marriage makes a new generation of people because there already was a lot of interacial reproduction. I think it would be mean if i would fall in love and someone would say: "Hey, you cannot marry her! It's against the law!" Not being able to marry anyone you want is racist and goes against the US Constitution. There's a link here. The link shows the right in the Constitution to have freedom to act in anyway you want as long as it doesn't hurt others.

I'm all for interracial marriage. Marrying within your race is almost incest.

How is marrying someone that happens to be you race like marrying a family member.
Obviously, you have never been in a relationship because you do not understand that most people tend to marry with their own race because they usually tend to have the same interests as people from their own race. That would slow down growth in the world, and in China, people would quickly die because 98.7% of the population is Chinese.

I agree. The world is already so diverse, almost anyone you amrry would be at least a little different.

No it shouldn't. No offense intended, but there is absolutly no good reason at all to ban a perfectly good thing as same race marriage.

Now interraccial marriage is another topic (doesn't the Bible say something about it)

I'm not against it in anyway, but doesn't the Bible recommend against it?

Negative, in the Bible God recommends (commands) against inter-religious (i.e. Pagan+Jew, Christian+Moslem) marriages. The Isrealites were forbidden from marriage to other people on the basis of religious reasons. How do I know? Moses married an Ethiopian woman (in Numbers chap 12), Miriam and Aaron got bent about it, and God struck Miriam with leprosy (She, likely, was the instigator that Aaron followed, nothing I know of happened to him, 'cept maybe him whizzin' his pants when he saw it ;) ). There's more than that in the Bible to back up God's approval of interracial marriage but this is one of the first and most obvious.

The Bible is often cited by racists because the Isrealites marrying some other peoples is commanded against. In all actuality their claims are, for the most part, unfounded.

Heck, I'm all for interracial marriage. Take a look at the biography in my profile. As to whether or not it should be legislated, Hell yeah. J/K :D Probably not. It's an interesting thought though.

ooooh. My thread has been revived.

For everyone who has missed it : THE OP IS NOT SERIOUS BESIDES AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE A POINT. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT SAME RACE MARRIAGES SHOULD BE BANNED.

You think that that is enough emphasis?

Just kidding -- I just couldn't resist! :p

The whole thread is sarcasm.

Perhaps... but the Arian Nation, Neo-Nazi, KKK, etc. might find it useful to "say it's sarcasm" too, but get their 'message' out where it normally wouldn't be received well. Personally, my better choice of taste keeps me from being confused for being part of the pretenders and the pretending-but-really-not.
Just some thought. :D

refering to the original post, you seem to be taking something to the extremes. Maybe ban if the gene pool is to close, but just being of same race you will be different enough not to matter. And as for race, at least here in America, most of us are of many different races, but are considered into few ethices. I am part German, due to last name, but i may be more indian for all i know. And what about half indian marrying indian. Is that interracial or not.

Eventually forced interbreeding would result in greater uniformity of the genetic stock wouldn't it. There used to be greater diversity in the human genome than there is now but a planet wide event removed many of the different types of humans.

Same race marriage should be banned because procreation without adaptation is harmful to society, to the parents and child, and to the gene pool. Without interracial marriages, the phenotype of the population remains the same, leaving this population stagnant and with a lack of genetic development and adaptation. This means that children from same race marriages add nothing to society while using up resources and part of the workforce by taking time away from the people that need to take care of them. In order to promote continuous adaptation of the whole of society, all marriages must be interracial and anything else should be illegal.

Interracial marriages also create a new generation of people who are not as prejudiced against people of other races because they gain tolerance for different races and cultures since they have been exposed and are apart of more then one. If someone is raised while experiencing and being a member of one group and one group only, when exposed to a second group it is likely they will be prejudiced against it. If someone is raised in two different groups, when exposed to a third they are more likely to be accepting of it because they won’t think that there is only one right group, but that there could be many right groups. If interracial marriages had been the way everyone was raised for the past 100 years, the Civil Rights movement would have been much less painful for society in its entirety. Racial tension in the present also would be much more relaxed allowing for a more peaceful, tolerant and positive society.

It takes more adaptation for a same-race marriage to work than what you give it credit for.

In the civilized countries all the old customs and prejudices about race, religion, and politics, etc. are fast disappearing. How, then, will the young people choose their mates? I predict on the basis of intelligence and ambition. I predict that the human race is voluntarially segregating into a drone class and a master class.

Mostly everyone missed the point.... *sigh*

I even posted what the point is

No, not everyone. It ought to be obvious that the state has no business telling people who they can and can't marry -- and neither has the church, except for marriages that take place in the church.

But your parody actually made a few good points. I've seen hardened, hateful racists suddenly become very scornful of racism -- after they've held their first "mixed" grandchild. ;)
