An interesting challenge:
HOW HOPE MATTERS
By R. L. DeWitt
If you walked on earth with Bible hope,
And was most happy in your bliss;
What would it matter if death is our END,
And you left the world like this?

If you lived your days with faith in God's Son,
And Bible peace at the last;
Could it matter at all if hope should FAIL,
And there is nothing when life is past?

If you disallow God's love and His truth,
As the Bible truly does tell;
Should it matter now as you ponder LIFE,
If your end could sadly be hell?

If you miss heaven's blessings and all that's good,
And you find the Bible was true;
If you die so soon and know not God's Son,
What will it THEN matter to you?

One might well read the Gospels of John 1;
John 3; John 14 for life in Jesus, the Christ.
Note also Rom. 8:24-25; 1 Cor. 15:19-22; Col. 1:25-27; Heb. 6:17-20;
1 Pet. 1: 3-9; 1 Pet. 3:15 for hope.

Interesting poetry. Kinda disturbing though :(

I think that was the idea in the challenge. We need to be disturbed about eternity if not saved (John 14:6; 1 Jn. 5:10-12). We may not be here tomorrow ....right?

Not really, I feel saved and it was still disturbing to me. But I see how you could see it that way.

I really wonder how it could be "disturbing" to one who is a "born again" believer in Jesus, the Christ of God, who has given His promise of salvation to them. It is a solemn challenge to lost souls. We as saints of God have eternal assurance, promise, and care, and a happy communion with Him (note Matt.28:20; Heb. 13:5). Those outside of Christ ought to be much concerned about eternity, I think, and moved to come to the Savior.
