Little baby Caedmon

He was born in January - he has a big sister aged about 18 months who is non-verbal.

He and his family are members of our little Orthodox Parish.

Caedmon was 'Churched' on Saturday and appeared to be a happy little Baby . According to Orthodox tradition he was 'named' at 8 days and made his formal Entrance into the Church on Saturday.

Our priest had a phone call either last evening [or this morning] to say that Caedmon was admitted to hospital on Monday and was to have surgery ASAP - but this could not be today as his electrolytes were badly out of balance - he's hungry and can't be fed till after surgery. Father asked for prayers for him after our Liturgy this morning and will be going to see Caedmon and his parents this afternoon. Until yesterday he was a lovely happy little baby.

As yet we have no diagnosis for Caedmon but as you can well understand his parents are very very concerned.

In your Charity - please keep this little Child of God in your prayers . I'll update as and when I can.

Caedmon's operation was done successfully today - hopefully I'll hear more as to what was actually done tomorrow after Liturgy.

My guess as to the problem was 100% right - I reckoned there were 3 possibilities - a) heart -would have been picked up earlier - so was ruled out
- b) a bowel problem - usually shows up later than this
- c) tummy problem - projectile vomiting - easily dealt with [ pyloric stenosis ]

Baby Caedmon is recovering well after his surgery and he will now be able to eat and digest his feeds without vomiting. Fr is going to visit the Hospital again later today

And how - as regards his parents' relief. They only came over from the USA at the start of the Academic year !!

I'm sure they are looking forward to getting wee Caedmon home and back into family life
