We spent last weekend in upstate New York in a really cute town. Nice city park, community gardens and community art centers.

Nice place. These liberals really got something going for them up here.

My husband and I went to Manhattan once. I had a hard time understanding what some of the people we talked to were saying because of their accent, but they were nice people just the same.

The Adirondacks are particularly beautiful. The liberals have done a great job taking care of them.

Lived there forty years. Went to the Adirondacks every summer--even owned a cabin up there till we moved.

I miss the arts and culture, the ocean, "real" lakes, and a progressive environment.

The religiosity wasn't crushingly oppressive as it is in the Bible Belt, infused with pseudo science and neanderthal politics (this refers to religiosity not any individuals.) But I have met lots of miracle people...I came by my ideas through early exposure, but the miracle people, like hardy plants, became progressive despite their limited exposure to other ideas. They are amazing, and a blessing to me.
