Lev Parnas Helped Rep. Devin Nunes' Investigations
Lev Parnas, an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani, helped arrange meetings and calls in Europe for Rep. Devin Nunes in 2018, Parnas’ lawyer Ed MacMahon told The Daily Beast.

Nunes aide Derek Harvey participated in the meetings, the lawyer said, which were arranged to help Nunes' investigative work. MacMahon didn’t specify what those investigations entailed.

Nunes is the top Republican on the House committee handling the impeachment hearings—hearings where Parnas' name has repeatedly come up.

Congressional records show Nunes traveled to Europe from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, 2018. Three of his aides—Harvey, Scott Glabe, and George Pappas—traveled with him, per the records. U.S. government funds paid for the group’s four-day trip, which cost just over $63,000.

Seems a bit ethically questionable having a person directly involved in events in charge of the Republican's team questioning witnesses. I wonder if anyone has any defence for why its apparently acceptable for Nunes to be carrying out his current role in the impeachment inquiry as opposed to being a witness.

Ethically questionable is Nunes' middle name. You may recall his fake recusal in the Russian investigation.

Nunes, who is himself the subject of an Ethics Committee's investigation stemming from his incidental collection revelation, has clearly not recused himself entirely from the House probe. Since his April 6 announcement, he has reviewed data and other intelligence related to the Russia matter.

Nunes: I don't recall if I ever spoke to him.
Parnas: I do.

The personal attorney of Rudy Giuliani's indicted associate Lev Parnas has questioned Devin Nunes' claim that he was not able to confirm whether he'd had a phone conversation with Parnas.

Parnas' lawyer Joseph Bondy said that Parnas "remembers" what the pair allegedly spoke about in a tweet directed at Nunes yesterday, responding to the California representative's claim that he was "not able to confirm" whether the pair had any phone conversation.

The attorney's latest swipe at the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee followed the panel's release of call logs supposedly involving Nunes, Parnas and Giuliani, published Tuesday in its impeachment report.

Nunes has been accused of taking part in phone calls with the president's personal lawyer, as well as Parnas and fellow Giuliani associate Igor Furman, who are both alleged to have helped Giuliani request that Ukraine investigate President Donald Trump's political rival Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

An ethical person would have recused himself.

The calls in question:

Over the course of the four days following the April 7 article, phone records show contacts between Mr. Giuliani, Mr. Parnas, Representative Devin Nunes, and Mr. Solomon. Specifically, Mr. Giuliani and Mr. Parnas were in contact with one another, as well as with Mr. Solomon (76). Phone records also show contacts on April 10 between Mr. Giuliani and Rep. Nunes, consisting of three short calls in rapid succession, followed by a text message, and ending with a nearly three minute call (77). Later that same day, Mr. Parnas and Mr. Solomon had a four minute, 39 second call.

Speaking to Maria Bartiromo for her Fox Business show on Sunday morning, Nunes advanced a type of alternative explanation that has gotten some play on Fox News, suggesting the aforementioned call he received from Parnas on April 12 may have been placed by Parnas’s wife, not Parnas himself.

Yeah, that's the ticket.
