I want to open up this thread to talk about the source of a lot of problems for many, and that is: "Fear(s)"

The side effects of all fears, rational or irrational is very real, and I'd like to talk about it...

Sometimes we may not even know why were afraid or what from, just that we are (afraid), having many side effects like PTSD, panic, paranoia, anxiety, all kinds of extreme discomfort and unsettling within...

What are you afraid of...? What are your fears and where do they come from and what do they do (to you)...? Are they rational or irrational, reasonable or unreasonable...?

    Let's talk about this...?

    Comments...?

    God Bless!

My deepest darkest fear is that I would inadvertently reveal my deepest darkest fears on the internet allowing every person (or non-person) wishing me malice and harm to read it and use it against me. Rational or irrational? Irrational as Jesus in my protector from all evil and malice besides the ones already lurking in my sinful heart. Ok, my fear is the evil already lurking in my heart >.<

I have fears of the evil out there and within me also, however they fluctuate a lot, and are this thing one day, another thing the next, sometimes none, and then sometimes some that were none... Sometimes rational, sometimes not...

Very hard, with how they always shift and change from one day to the next, very difficult to put a finger one or figure out, or predict so as to be prepared and ready for...

    God Bless!

My brain tends to like to rehearse worse case scenarios as a form of psychological prepping. It leads to very unpleasant intrusive thoughts often about loved ones dying. I usually push them back out of my mind with the Jesus Prayer and sometimes I use the 'even if' thing that I saw once on CF (Even if (insert terrible occurrence) I will praise the Holy Name of Lord Jesus Christ).

I am hoping to increase my understanding of God's hand being in all things versus Satan having (limited?) free reign here in the material world. It is a sort of short term goal I have right now to gain a deeper insight into how that works. I know some things are meant to remain a mystery and be taken on faith but I feel that I am lacking some clarity in that area. Any thoughts or useful Bible verses for me?

Some days, I am completely fearless, yet on some other days, I am as afraid as a timid mouse...

I guess it's when I focus on the wickedness both that may be in and a part of me (or not) (and not knowing that intensify's the fear) Anyways, when I focus on the wickedness in myself and others and things around me, that can take me down into timid mouse mode real quick, but, I'm not always thinking about that, and when I'm not, I actually do quite the opposite of that, and am seeing or trying to see the good in me, and in others and the world around me, and those days are pretty darn good...

But, thinking about, (or what triggers me to think about) and focus on the wickedness and darkness, Like Peter looking at the storm I sink real quick, but when I'm not and am actaully doing the opposite, I seem to be able to almost "walk on water" on those days and times...

    Anyone else wish to share...?

    God Bless!

Why do you feel like you have to rehearse worse case scenarios...? You say to prepare yourself for or in case of the worst, right...? But, were not supposed to do that, right...? Were supposed to trust God and the Holy Spirit to lead guide and direct us in those moments in the moment, right...?

Therefore when they put you up before courts, do not rehearse what you are to say (or do) ahead of time, but trust the spirit, right...? (Luke 12:11-12)

It kind of "snowballs" when I start or something triggers me to start, thinking about and focusing on (the) wickedness, and feeling the wickedness makes me wonder if it's in me also, and not knowing that, is very unsettling, I think on those days and times when that happens, I wonder if I am still saved or not, or if God will still accept me when I am feeling and sensing all that wickedness in me and around me...

Wondering if that wickedness I am sensing around me, is in or has somehow gotten "in me", and makes me question my salvation, which is very scary to me, cause I know that if I am not in God's favor, I am completely lost...

It goes away though, then comes back, then goes away, ect...

    God Bless!

I am actually pretty good and seeing and focusing on the positive and good, most of the time...

Those days and times are wonderful... But, not, on the others...

I don't have much if any pride left, so I cannot arrogantly just laugh off wickedness like some others do...

I'm wondering if I should get angry about it, but, how can I, when I don't know if it is also "in me"...

Luckily I am able to ignore and brush aside much of what might make me focus on the wickedness, but, not always...

And, I'm tired of cowering in fear, (on those days) I'd rather take a stand, but don't know how, without wondering if I am being a hypocrite, or not...?

    God Bless!

I don't like to do it, my brain likes to do it. That is why I try to chase the thoughts out with the Jesus Prayer. Of course we are to trust in God, that is why I chase the thoughts out. It is also why I need to increase my understanding of God's hand being in all things versus Satan having (limited?) free reign on earth. I would like to get to a point of fully trusting God at every moment in every thing, thus being fully surrendered to God's will but my lack of insight into how much of what happens is God's hand and how much is Satan's work (or negative energy for those reading this that scoff at the concept of Satan) is hindering me. A week ago I read that Satan cannot do anything without God's permission but then a few days later I read that that is not strongly evidenced in scripture.
Anyway, I don't want to de-rail your thread with that issue.
I have a fear of starting a thread (I have never started a thread) and having 200 well-meaning (or otherwise) people jumping on my head, overwhelming me and it sitting on featured threads for all to pick over for a week, haha. So there you have another fear. And here I am revealing all my fears on the internet, my deepest darkest fear :D

Fear of being exposed naked spiritually/personally speaking when you do not even know who you are for sure yet, yeah, I get that, and share it, but have chosen to risk and brave it anyway...

I have similar questions about God's sovereignty and Satan as well, that I have yet to fully resolve of come to conclusion for sure on...

I do know that when Satan or a demon does do anything to you or around you, it is a test, and you'll either succeed or fail, or succeed sometimes, and fail at other times... Every test is an opportunity, therefore, to take a "step up" the staircase going to heaven or to God himself, and Satan knows this as well, but only God alone already knows the outcome, and Satan does not, but chooses to take the risk of us being able to possibly, go up a step or higher anyway...

So, this must mean God actually, places some measure of faith in us, also, if he is allowing it, but restricting him and limiting him (Satan)...

    God Bless!

If only those walking in arrogance and arrogantly laughing these things off, could only see the end of that, both for themselves and their world, but, sadly, they can't or won't, or literally can't (right now)...

    That makes me angry too...

    God Bless!

God has let me know that the world is both good and bad, that it is mixed...

So, my fluctuating between seeing a only wickedness around me, or only just good around me, is not correct... I have to use discernment, to know the truth... But, I don't want to judge...

My fear of wickedness is something that I'm trying to overcome... I can't help wondering if I am not just as wicked as the wickedness I perceive around me at times...

But, it is both good and bad right now, and I have to learn the difference...

    Just an observation ~
Seems you do not recognize or comprehend how to utilize the power within you.

Worry, fear, being anxious, etc. all stem from; we are creatures WHO are NOT "all knowing".

However "IF", you ARE a person "WITH" the Holy Spirit within you - do you know what that means?

It means you have the surrendered your life to be "IN the CARE of thee Supreme Power"; thee Lord God Almighty.

IF you have surrendered your life to thee Lord God Almighty ~ thee ALL Knowing God ~
Ask Him and TRUST HIM to lead you in the path He desires For You. Because IF you continue to lead yourself; you will continue to get the same results; of worry, anxious, etc.

Good to hear, you have apparently found yourself without Pride. Although you seemed to say that as if it were not so good. Actually it is excellent. What do we have to be Proud of, or Boast of ourselves? We are born in sin. We can not save ourselves. We have to make decisions based on limited (and often times wrong) information. We are naturally stingy, greedy, sneaky beings. And IF and when a person decides TO subject themselves to the Lord; It is He that carries our burdens, not us. It is He that Keeps us, blesses us, guides us, teaches us, directs us, not us. Glory and exalting is unto God, not us.

You also mentioned; seemingly the arrogance of one who laughs at wickedness.

Wickedness IS knowing what is right, but choosing to do what is wrong.
The "arrogance" IS a wicked person "hoping to", "believing they have", fooled another with their trickery and cunningness.

The laughing is at their own ignorance, in believing they actually HAVE fooled a believer.

Personally, I have no issue with laughing at someone desperately trying to convince another that two opposites are one in the same thing. Even the Lord gets a chuckle at such nonsense.

    Pss.2
    1. [4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

    This is disturbing!
Either you have chosen to trust and believe God is supremely Sovereign or you haven't.

And THAT my friend is something you should have assuredly decided BEFORE you submitted your life to Him.

    2Pet.1
    1. [10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Satan IS not a sovereign. He does not have Supreme Power over men. Satan has a bag of tricks, in hopes men will submit to his power. But remember, what power Satan has, comes from God, WHO is Sovereign, first and above and before ALL things.

If you mean "God has faith IN US"...no.
If you mean "God Himself gives us faith"....yes.

    Rom 12:
[3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Now IF a man chooses to develop and strengthen and increase "the measure of faith" given us.

We seek out the perfecter/finisher of our faith.

    Heb 12
[2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

And when we seek, we find our faith is increased; By Gods Power; not of our own, and not by other men.

    2 Cor 10
[15] Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,

Never, IF you have the POWER of God in you, and utilize it.
A test is not for Gods benefit, but yours.
A test is for you to know where you stand, and increase the truth of God, or be satisfied with wondering what to do.
The truth will set you free - BECAUSE armed with the TRUTH, lies and trickery can not enchant you, or fool you, or make you wonder and doubt and fall for the trickery.
Eve - was fooled, enticed, and began focusing and engaging with Satan.
Jesus - gave us a perfect example of how to handle a trickster.
When Satan "attempted" to entice Jesus - Jesus gave Satan a double message -
For Satan to get "behind" Jesus.
    Meaning -
    1) To depart from Jesus' sight, rendering Satan's ploy ineffective.(no attention give him)
    2) To walk in "following" Jesus, not in leading. ie according TO Jesus, NOT according to Satan.

THAT is the power we are given within us to deal with evil that attempts to entice us; which effectively renders EVIL moot in affecting and infecting us.

Bottom line: the Supreme Power of God is in you and will not fail you, IF you utilize it.
Bottom line: God changes our heart, our truth, and we have to daily remember it is our job to trust the thoughts, the power, the truth in our hearts that God is giving us; and stop allowing our carnal mind to lead us. It is our job to allow our hearts thoughts to supersede our minds thoughts.

    Rom 12
    1. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

    God Bless,
