Pets are a popular feature of CF. We have this forum to post in about them, but there are people who might want one who don't ever look in here because they don't have the blessings to buy a pet There may be others who give their pets up because they are can't post for a while and don't have the blessings it takes to pay for petcare and don't realize that there are people who are willing to help them out on both accounts.

Any ideas on how to make these folks aware that there are people who are willing to help them get and maintain their pets?

Maybe Doctor CF can keep a register of people who are willing to help with pets and can carry in her signature something that says "for help with your pet PM me" or something similar. I'll brainstorm some more now.

Great idea !!! have been trying to keep track of everything in my head and not having much luck .... maybe can also keep a blog. Will think more about it... If anyone has ideas post here or pm me.... am willing to help with pets in anyway...

I don't know if the powers that be would go for it, but wouldn't it be nice if in the "create a pet" section there were a small paragraph which let people know that they can save a few blessings or even get their pet for free by adopting a pet or checking out this forum for available pets?

I see so many pets in the adoption center that are only a few days old. The people who created these pets didn't understand the virtual care or cost involved in keeping a CF pet. Had they adopted an existing pet, the even if they put it up for adoption in a few days it isn't a whole new virtual animal to try to find a home for.

The area where pets are purchased could have a small type that you must read and then click that ya understand before you go on,much like when I read the rules here before I climbed aboard.

Have an idea....

to get the word out maybe someone can write it up and I can try to post it in the welcome center to as many new comers as can... it will get post up, welcome newbies and let everyone know.... but problem I am not good with words and/or graphics.... if anyone has idea can either post it in this thread or pm me... something I can just copy and paste.... can use more then one idea..... what you think??

ps....I can also use something different to sign guest books with. any ideas??

Great idea.... I get many pm's, getting more each day. we are getting more support for the animals. Is difficult to keep track of all the names. Have been trying to keep track of people by putting them on as CF Buddies.... so if anyone wants to helps can pm me and also make me a buddy... then I will be able to know when you are on-line if I need help.

Would also like if could get members to sign guestbook... If you haven't yet, please sign my guestbook.

Each time I help someone adopt a pet , also send a pm asking then to visit pet forum and post so we can play with the pet and help keep it healthy if they happen to be away.... Helps to keep as many pets healthy together in one place. After we are able to feed each others pets, will be easier to find them if they have posted in pet forum somewhere...

Love all the ideas... keep brainstorming... You all are doing great...

Well, something worked. I just checked and there's one pet up for adoption and it's one I put in because I get Kiwi back tomorrow.

Most of the pets that were up for adoption are now in daycare until after end of month so they would not be deleted and lost in cyber-space. They will automatically come back for adoption friday or saturday. They will have another month to get adopted....

Was reading in another thread. "Redneck crow" saying something about November could be a no-kill month for cf pets... Think that would be wonderful.

Had a thought but will need lots of help with it...

We could have each month a special contest or theme. I know they have specials and theme for each month at our local shelter but not sure how we could implement it to CF.... Need all ideas and thoughts.... maybe can win a free pet of the month?? Just thinking.... please help with other ideas....

I just adopted a fish out of the adoption center. As of now, there are no pets up for adoption.

Anyone who knows someone who wants a fish, PM me. Muttley gets out of pet care in 3 days, and I have to rehome this fish or put him back up for adoption before then.
