Philippians 3:
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind
; and if in anything
you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained,
let us walk by the same rule,
let us be of the same mind.

Romans 14:
10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother?
For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written:
As I live, says the Lord,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.”
12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this,
not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.
14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him
who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love.
Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died.
16 Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil;
17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace
and joy in the Holy Spirit.
18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Conclusion: Don't create a basis for judging others because you choose to place
something above the weightier matters.

Q. Why should believers today abstain from alcohol?
New Testament answer: If their conscience convicts them to do so,
based on the circumstances that The Lord has placed them.
If there is a concern, do not drink.
If you see a brother doing so, don't judge.
Conclusion: Don't Judge.

The saints are divided over this issue.
What is worse, accepting that some may have a glass of wine on occasion
with dinner, or divisions in the body?
The liver probably feels stronger about this issue than the sore feet.

Someone mentioned not putting stumbling blocks before others.
Let's go with what that passage states:

I would add you caveat.
When one knows that someone has problems with alcohol or has strong opinions about not drinking.
Be the mature Christian and don't put temptation, a stumbling block in there way.

We all know, whether we admit it or not, the time will come when one glass of wine at dinner is not enough, so on and so on.

This is why the scripture says that "wine is a mocker, and strong drink is raging."

Comments in OP#1 regarding alcohol use were removed to broaden the topic.
Ephesians 4:
I
, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which
you were called,
2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,
3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and
through all, and in you all.
