So if I listen to you, therefore I shouldn't listen to you, right?

I recall a verse in Jeremiah 17:9-10

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
"I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

I think it means I should be wary of what my heart tells me

i learned an important lesson. lesson is don't lesson to others' opinons instead listen to your heart.

so if you're a gullibal person, listen to your heart! your heart is always right!

God bless ya'l !
Good point about listening to your heart rather than the opinion of others.

The Lord writes His opinions on the heart, mind, and spirit. Praying and reading His words helps to make clear which thoughts and feelings come from Him.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9

And so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:4-6

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Jeremiah 31:33, Hebrews 8:10, 10:16

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Our heart is not always accurate.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
1 John 3:20-21

It is possible to deceive your own heart.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
James 1:26

We must guard our hearts because the issues of life flow from it.

For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Acts 28:27

Although our spirits are one in Christ, we're to receive the spirit of counsel. Without waiting for that counsel, we should not rely on our own heart.

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Prov 28:26

If we do the right things and worship God and pray and guard our hearts, then God can bring forth those things that have been planted in it, such as wisdom, etc.

It is scriptural to receive counsel (not the counsel of the ungodly).

For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Prov 24:6

Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
Prov 27:9

Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
Prov 20:18

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
Prov 20:5

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
Prov 19:20

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Prov 15:22

Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Prov 11:14

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Prov 12:15

Ultimately, we can rely on God to direct us as we receive counsel. Many times just bringing things into the light during counsel, the Spirit guides and directs us, often bringing us the answers as we ask the questions!
