hello. well trying to get into religion more......as many on here has read my other posts,
i'm trying to walk thru all of this.

One thing I would like to look into is the lay servant. I like to help with a couple of things, and I have a few ideas of maybe other things to start.

They say the first level is the lay servant.

I would like to take this, as a way to learn and explore.

I haven't talked to the pastor or the district office about it, because they just go nuts.
the office wants to make a production and a mound of paperwork on everything.

I've been looking for an on-line class.

can't seem to find any.

anyone know where there might be some available.

thanks

If you're UMC, then you might find a link to online courses from your state's conference website. I've taken a few online courses that way, but each state conference probably does it differently. Also, sign up for email newsletters from the conference website as they may also notify you of any upcoming courses. You may still ultimately need to get through the paperwork though if you decide to officially become a lay servant.

That you for your reply.
Contacted main office, they
Said you must do it face to
Face. Link they give is
Outdated. Plus would need
To travel many hundreds of
Miles and the like.
I suggested online...and it
Didn't go well. They say they
Want deciples...this is the
First class, but they sure
Don't Make it easy or take
In consideration those in rural

I am sure that Iowa Conference, for example, does not do this online. We have classes in designated location. I can't tell from your post if you are UMC or not. But another option if you are UMC is the School for Lay Ministry.
